Question for the 997tt owners who find themselves here .
I look at the 991ttS spec sheet then i look at my EVT700 997tt and I just can't bring myself to sell the 07 car and I can't justify having both .
That leaves me with using my M3 a bit more as it is my daily driver and replacing it with a 991S . Plus i would keep my 997 Turbo .
If i bought a 991tt S I would have to sell both the M3 and the Turbo and use the new car as a daily driver . Miami is a city region and to use a car like this as a daily driver just seems so impractical .
I find myself somewhat in limbo trying to decide .
1) I feel if I buy the 991 turbo and sell both I will miss my current cars and not feel comfortable using the new car daily.
2) If i buy the 991S I feel like i will want the Turbo . The 991 S cars depreciate steep enough that I'd miss the chance .
3) If i keep my current cars (M3 and 997tt) then I end up getting full use out of them (both only have 15K miles) and by then both the 991S and 991TTS options are somewhat plentiful (new and used) .
Choice number 3 sounds the most logical .. but i still keep finding myself reading both the 991 and 991tt forums and i sense that a new car is not out of the question .. just not sure .
I am wondering if anyone else is feels the same or if not then I'd like to hear it.

Logical choice is #3, but none of these purchase makes any logical sense. My money is on you will end up with a new car.
There are a lot of negative posts about the new turbo(s), but I think when they see the car in person, most will change their mind. This is true for every model change. Opps, I don't have a turbo, but came close to 997.1 turbo, and 997.2 turbo

Haha, yes they are. And they are the problems that keep me awake at night
For me, the main problem of DD the new 991TT (because of its $190k price)is that I will worry even more about door dings and where I can park it. I can't have those worries with a DD. I did DD my 997S, and was careful, but feel more relaxed DD my bluetec with very little concern of where I park it or what people think when they see me in it.

I live in south florida, and agree a manual trans 997 turbo not a good daily driver, especially a modified one. I assume you have the "new car bug" like all of us get every few years ?
If cost is no object, order a 991S turbo and call it a day.
If cost is a concern, but you have to get into a new car as a daily driver to replace the M3 but want to stay with Porsche, I recommend a 2014 Cayman S with PDK.
Otherwise, the smart choice is to stay with what you have. I think the 991S Turbo would be a awesome track car/DD combination. I would get one, but can;t bring myself to cough up the 100k+ to replace my 2007 Turbo (that money will dissappear with depreciation in 6 years, just like my car did!)

I say wait a year or two and get yourself a used one with a relatively low mileage; until then, love and use your two beauties like there's no tomorrow

A Cayman is a very fine car .. but if i bought one I would want a 911 even more .
I'm not sure if its the depreciation in the wake of usual option pricing that has me feeling this way or the fact that after 9 Porsches I am finally at the point whee it gets old losing 40-50 grand every few years .
In the meantime i see guys buying used Turbos , or Gt3 cars , or Boxster spyder , or even 09-10 997S cars .. they drive them a year and are offered nearly what they paid for it .
These are just my own thoughts in the process and if it seems somewhat fragmented to the reader it's because logic points towards not getting the car .. at least for now (meaning today) ... for me .

My CTT, which was my first Porsche, is babied like no other car I've had. I cringe everytime I put any marks or dings on her. However, having said that, I do worry where I park and have the same concerns. I typically park as far away as possible in the parking lot. Typically there are more spots beside and in front of you so there is less traffic coming in/out of these spots. While this sucks having to park so far, think of all of the extra workout you're getting
. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it. If you can afford this fabulous car, enjoy it!.
Hi Larry, first of all, it's a nice problem to have.
For me, I thought about replacing my 997.2TTS with the 991TTS but at the end of the day, I placed the order for a new 991GT3 instead.

I traded my M3 today but did not buy a 991S , kept my Turbo and Cayenne but added my first ever mid engine roadster .. a Boxster S .
