Mine is on the same boat. It was supposed to be in Port yesterday. Maybe delivery next weekend?

 

It arrived in port early Thurs. I would expect you would be right. Where is yours going?

I am in Austin for a drivers school the 3 thru 5th I hope it hits before then.

 

I would think, unless there is a delay, that we should see our cars there tomorrow or Tuesday.

 

Once the ship gets to port, how long does the car sit at port before leaving for the dealership? I imagine PDI is done at port and not the dealership, correct?

Depends. My understanding is that PDI can get delayed at the port if it is really busy. From there to dealer depends solely on distance at that time.

 

Time can vary a lot. I don't know where they PDI.

 

PDI at port. That has always been my understanding. It may not be called that there, but I do believe they are inspected and made sure to be undamaged from the boat ride.

Looks like PDI at port is primarily paper work, visual inspection, and window sticker. Minor damages incurred during shipping maybe repaired at port as well. A second, and more detailed, PDI is performed at the dealership prior to release.

 

The ship carrying my car just crossed the Panama Canal today and should be in San Diego in a week. You guys on the east coast are don't have to wait nearly as long.
