I would like a facelift. Something about the turbo's front fascia is off.

Setting up the 991.1 for a massive depreciation hit.... madness if they facelift 2 years into a model cycle, hell even 4 years in sucks a bit for anyone paying close to 200k for the turbo s.

Facelift will be announced next year and it will be a MY2016
Porsche is not doing anything different from previous generations...

996:

Turbo: 2000
Facelift 2002

997:
Introduction 2004
Turbo 2006
Facelift 2008

991:
Introduction 2011
Turbo 2013
Facelift 2015

Above are years of introduction, not MY!

It's still beautiful in my eyes, facelift or not it won't affect my current purchase decision. I'm hoping by the time I sell this beast that I will need a facelift!

Not sure what the big deal is.
Its a minor face lift and should not impact the value of the 991's.

The .2 turbo came out in 2009 though so we will not see a .2 until 2017 (delivered perhaps by Fall 2016).

RE: 991 Turbo deliveries came in late '13 but the models are MY14. Mine arriving this July '14 and it will be labelled a MY15 model.

Any idea of when the build dates for the 991TT become MY 2015 vehicles.

I wish they would keep it simple: The model year is the same as the year it's built!!!

Totally agree!

Over here in Europe MY normally doesn't mean much, except some changes. a MY2013 or MY2014, both built in 2013 are 2013 cars. A MY2014, built in 2014 is a 2014 car, just like a MY2015, built in 2014. We don't use the term Model Year.

That makes it even more confusing, because often the car gets changes in available options or colors when PAG changes from MY.

It would be nice if a MY also means production year....

Maybe they should just do like Apple and designate them as "product name (release date)" -- e.g., "27" iMac (Late 2012)"

So, for example, the current 991 Turbo would be designated as "911 Turbo (Late 2013)"
