Pdcc and turbo/s
Pdcc and turbo/s
Would like to know from 991 turbo owners if they got their car without PDCC and if they feel they are missing something. I don't plan to track the car, the usual street driving. Is it a must or something that will simply cost more to fix down the road.
Thx

It's standard on the S, option on the base turbo. Probably not a must have option like the sport chrono, but highly recommended, even if you don't track. I haven't heard of any issues w/ it, it's been around since '12 model year w/ the NA 991s.
I've been doing a lot of searching on the PDCC as I'm about to order a Turbo but want to keep the price as low as I can. It seems that there are quite a number of mixed reviews about PDCC from those who rave about it and feel it changes the cars cornering dramatically to those who feel its not a big deal unless you are going to track your car. I think Im gonna pass on the PDCC. Sounds like a nice option to have but without it I dont think well be missing much.
I would say if you are getting an S, for other reasons i.e. extra hp, pdcc will come with it, and so be it. That's well and good. But if ordering the base, I would not pay extra for it, as you are unlikely to miss it. I had a 991 C2S without pdcc and it handled so well overall, that it was hard to miss anything. I did have sport chrono which is a must have. Also if you are getting a base with both pdcc and ceramic brakes and (SC is a must have) just go for S.

I agree 100%. There is no point in buying a base Turbo if you are going to load it up the the gills with options like PDCC and PCCB. The price difference between the two becomes negligible. However, for those looking to spend less, a nicely optioned base Turbo can be built for around 160k vs 180k plus for an S.

Iron rotors are just as capable. I have an iron rotor BBK on my M3 and it easily outpowers my track tires (causes ABS intervention if I push it to hard) and does not fade lap after lap after lap, even with street pads. I like my pccbs on my Turbo S because they look cool. But that squeak

Exactly. You likely will not miss them at all. In fact you will be better off since pccb's squeak sometimes.

And rotor squeak sucks. I had it on my '12 BE GT-R, but it subsided after a few thousand miles. However, now I have the typical rotor cracking that those OEM rotors get.
