Did anyone see the curiously low trap speed in the Motor Trend test? Other than ambient temps I have no idea how the new Turbo S has a lower trap speed with the same elapsed time as the 997 Turbo S.

Any expert ideas as to what is taking place, and if ambient temps is the cause of this anomaly? With that being said is there any real world 991 Turbo / Turbo S data currently?

 

You have to take any such tests with a grain of salt. Wind, temperature, tires, shifting algorithms, driver weight, road conditions ... any or all could be a significant factor and, at the end of the day, it's all miliseconds. Unless you average multiple runs at the same facility at the same time on the same day in both cars, the comparisons mean a lot less than people think.
