Proof that the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S is unbreakable
I did 6 in a row a couple of weeks ago. The fan was still blasting after I turned off the ignition and got out of the car. Other than that, no side effects. Pretty amazing. My neck is still sore from the launches.

I actually think the 991 Turbo S is a fragile car, or I have had nothing but bad luck. When I got the car, I got the infamous "clunking" sound from the ceramic brakes, which thankfully went away after 2500km. Then a crankshaft sensor when kaput and my car wouldn't start, at all. My car's been in service for a week waiting for the damn part to arrive. I'm not saying the car isn't solid but it's very far from 'unbreakable'.
I was speaking with a Porsche technical person and apparently there is a 991S that has 15,000km on it. All doing 200 metre launches! The car is at the factory/Weissach. When they took apart the PDK there were no issues inside and even the oil was still good.
Launch control 10 times
Launch control. I live in Las Vegas. Lots of open straight roads with no traffic. The first time I tried the launch control was early morning on a empty road. I did it once got the car up to about 100. Stopped on the road and did it again about 10 times. It did not bother the car at all and the engine temperature never changes. I did find the best way to use the launch control is just put the car in drive , step on the brake, push down the gas pedal and let off the brake. The car sits for about a millisecond and they launches. It never spins the tires. The more launches I did the car seemed to accelerate off the line better. It was as if the car was learning what to. I tried it launch control once where I did the shifting. It was not good. The engine winds up very fast and you spend all your time looking at the tach not wanting to over rev the engine. Their is no way you can shift and keep up with the car. After the 5th launch I became more observant. The car always goes straight and it is fast. However their is really no human element in the launch control the car does everything you are just a passenger holding on the steering wheel. How much will I use the launch control? Probably not much. It is nice to try a few times. It is not something I suggest you will want to do at at stopping on a public street. Why because the car accelerates so fast you will probably get the attention of the police and get a ticket. It is best used in a environment with no their cars around. It is so fast if you used it at a stoplight it would really scare other cars. The bottom line it is a neat feature that is a gimmick to be used especially what you take someone for a ride in the car and you want to scare them. Like all gimmicks the novelty will probably wear off and you will not do it very often. Like the rest of the car and the PDK. You soon learn that the car does everything better than you the driver. All my other cars have had manual transmission including my last Turbo. At first I hated the PDK. They I sort of like it. Not I love it. It is a learning process just like learning how to dirve a manual car. After a few weeks you learn how to use PDK like it is second nature. I now use the paddle only and I drive the car and shift just like my manual car. Is if funny you you soon find out you do not miss pushing in the clutch peddle each time you need to shift.

Wow!....What can I say? Wow!........... Tks for sharing!
