Thinking about a Turbo...
#16
Vic - thanks, brother. I couldn't have asked for a better reply than this one. I think I'll set my sights on a slightly used 991 TT. Also, I definitely see the advantages of getting an 'S' over a regular TT, but the current prices exceed my self-imposed limit for a bone stock car.
Thanks again, my friend. Much appreciated.

Thank you guys--- gratitude.
So here are the most recent sales of non S 991 TT's at Manheim. The condition appears fine and the pricing isnt all too bad but this was 60 days ago and cars depreciate as we breathe. The miles were very low on these cars (non S's)
04/09/14 PALM BCH Regular $151,000

04/09/14 PALM BCH Regular $146,000

Having owned a 2012 TTS you are going to be extremely pleased with it's performance. Sure a 991 is the latest but really we are talking semantics when it comes to pure power. I was intending on buying a 991 Turbo S from the dealer that actually pre bought my TTS in December of 2013 for $135K. But after getting jerked around twice with delivery dates I cancelled the order and got my deposit back. It was sort of a blessing in disguise. My configured TTS was ~$194 MSRP and by the time CA tax was applied I was well over $200K. I love Porches and loved my TTS but reflecting back and having to pay over $200K on a 911 is crazy. I may end up buying one in a year or so after someone has put on ~ 2-4K miles on it and the price has come down to below $150K. However buying new cars is becoming a waste of money in my mind.

But you are a realist- you mod cars for the intrinsic value gained from the mods. I know you dont go into the process thinking the car will hold its value and that you will get 80 cents on the dollar with the mods as well.
I have had over 12 cars in 3 years and have done BPU's on all of them (no heavy builds ever) but still wheels, exhaust, lowering, cosmetics, and ECU cost cash. I dont like to think Ive wasted money as much as the term... I have spent money to make me happy
Anyways with that being said, you will really enjoy the chassis as I said on the 991. The power can be had from all different engines as your stable has dictated but to mate driveability with the power is the bonus with the 991. Its the better chassis.
