Exclamation Full Exhuast without Tune

Hello everyone

Finally pulled the trigger on a 991 turbo one week ago and I love the car. So far it's everything I hoped it would be and more.

I'm looking to do full exhaust (Header and the rest), but I don't wanna do the tune at the moment. Am I going to have a problem going Full cat less exhaust without a tune ? or is the ECU smart to adjust the changes by it self ?

Thanks in advance

Well I have seen improvements even with stock ecu . For example esmotor in turkey , decreased 0-60 time by 0.1-0.2 only with headers

I'm sure there will be improvement, but my concern is that the car will not start as it spouse to. I had problem with my GTR when I changed my intakes. the car went very lean and the RPM was all over the place. I don't want this to happen to the 991. I know I might be a little rich on fuel side but I'm ok with that. I'll tune it in the near future but not know.

Also keep in mind that the stock DME will adapt to the aftermarket exhaust dropping power back to stock levels within a week or two of driving. That's what I experienced after doing the full exhaust first, it was great initially w/ better throttle response, faster turbo spoolup, etc., but was back to stock feeling after a couple weeks. Then I chipped it, and OMG.

From what I have been able to gather, there are very few owners on the boards that have used aftermarket headers, so I don't know what might happen without a tune. Are you retaining cats or going catless? From what I have read, a quality exhaust that replaces the cats will not cause check engine lights without a tune. The key is quality. No check engine lights on my Europipe exhaust. Others can chime in on their install. Can only really speak for myself.

Yup I've already been following your thread, since I'm going the same rout as you. I'll be installing the parts and around Dec. I'll do GIAC tune. this is my plan for the moment. Thanks for your reply

That's great, I'm going with cat less to maxims the power out put from the full exhaust. I'm going with Cargraphic though. Thanks for your reply
