Moving from MP4-12C back to 991, but questions...please help
Hey guys long time porsche owner (11 total). I left the Porsche family went to Ferrari for a few years with 1 430, 2 458's then switched to McLaren. The MP4 is truly an AMAZING car. I now have a very bad back and getting out of the MP4 is getting to be a challenge. I am considering buying a 2015 991TTS OR wait until the 991.2 TTS comes out. I have been on the Internet looking, but still no info on when the debut will be. Anyone here have more info on the 991.2 order dates? Thanks in advance!!!
I think its not worth the wait , the maximum they will do is a little jump in hp ,but no big deal like 997.1 to 997.2 when they introduced the pdk

I have not seen anything firm, but there are a couple of ongoing threads on the 991.2, or potentially 992. The best guess would be that this should be out next summer. Do a search in the forum.

I just assume if you have the cash for a couple of Ferraris then you can get the 991 Turbo S now and just sale it when the 991.2/992 Turbo S come out. Might lose $20K? You're already going to lose getting rid of the MP4 since they've drop in prices so much already. By new year they'll even be worth less.
No never felt that. Always pulled HARD and was just lightning fast. Handled like it was on rails. Hands down it was better than any of the Ferrari's I've owned. Kills me to get rid of it. Haven't drove it in 4 months and took it out the other day and it was hell trying to get out with my back...

Sorry to hear about your back brotha, I undersstand where you're coming from.
Back in 2008, I began suffering from back issues and because of that, I sold my Gallardo. As I began having craving for more and more speed, I jumped into a 997.1TT with some bolt-ons. After a while, that car too began to give me some issues...not too bad, but some nonetheless.

A buddy of mine came over one day with his C6Z06 and we decided to drive for brunch and to a car show. Would you know it, that Z06 did not bother me it all. Funny, the car sits lower, but for some reason, the crappy seats with its lack of lateral support and soft cushion compared to the P-car and the G-car helped me...I was shocked! So we added a C6 Z06 to the family...may let it go for the new 2015 C7Z06...need to sit in it first though.

Moving ahead, the 991TTS feels better vs. the gone but not forgotten 997.1, but I can see where the 991TTS may bother some folks during a long haul if they suffer from major back issues.

My advise, if not already done so, check out a 997TTS and sit in and really try to suck it in...sit in it for a good 10mins or more if you have to then see how you feel. As far as the 991.2...I wouldn't wait.
Thanks,

I think the best piece of advise anyone can give is to head over to the Porsche dealer with your MP4 and see if they will give you a TTS for the day. Drive it around, do some grocery shopping, do your regular routine, that way you will get out of the vehicle and back into it fairly often. Hopefully it fits you better, if not, maybe a bigger car like a Panamera or a E63 would work. Good luck, sucks you have to get rid of a beautiful machine like the Mclaren.
Somewhat OT, but for those with back problems, do you have a dedicated 30 minute stretching routine every day? Especially for the quads and glutes, less for hamstrings? Along with ab crunches, core exercises and sub 38" waistline/weight management?
Its not exercise or loosing weight. It's 2 bulging discs and a pinched nerve in another. They need to operate, but they say sometimes it's a success and sometimes it's not...😩😩
I can't compare entry/egress to your McLaren, but can attest to the relative ease of entry and exit from the TTS compared to my A8, if not my GF's A7. Check it out. Also, the 18-way adjustable seats are the most supportive seats I have experienced and this is especially noticeable after long drives.
