Not sure I agree with this but your questions will easily be answered by a trip to the dealer to for a nice long test drive with the TTS. I read your other thread and most if not all answer you can decide on.

We have a Panny GTS in the family and it does not handle like my 991. Is it a great car, yes 100%. But I would not consider them substitutes IMHO.

Interestingly I am considering taking advantage of the pull ahead program in the US and getting a Turbo/Turbo S. Most would say easy decision (and I agree) but 1) I love my C4S. Zero problems and 2) we are coming into winter and the TTS would not see as much action.

Good luck!!

If only life would be that easy. I live in Finland with 5 million population and I have seen a 991 TTS once parked in the shopping center and once at the dealer, where it was locked in the showroom before being sold. Demo cars include a Macan Diesel and a Panamera Hybrid. That is as close to a testdrive you get here, even if you own a Panamera Turbo or turbo s. Off course I wouldnt ask simple questions like that if I could test drive the car. the closest place for a real test drive is Germany and that is some 2000 km away.

^ That sucks. But kind of tough to buy such an expensive car without a test drive. Didn't mean to insult you. Plenty of people ask questions like "how does it drive" "will xxxx fit" and can simply go to the dealer. I guess I take for granted the 6 dealers within 30 miles and I can virtually test drive any/models variants anytime I want.

Good luck.

Finally I got the 991 TTS for $225k.Now my wife wants to get an SUV and she has been looking at the ML/GL 63 AMG and Porsche Cayenne Turbo. She test drove all of them and out the 2 Mercedes SUVs she likes the ML more but in her opinion the Porsche is the best out of those three.Any opinions on this?(I love the cayenne turbo more than any other suv).We dont need the 3rd row.As the ML and GL are the same cars except the GL is bigger and has 3 rows with MINOR trim and interior differences, which would you get?

Hands down Cayenne Turbo. Make sure it has PDCC.

I know she wont care about acceleration, but isnt the Cayenne Turbo the fastest accelerating SUV?From what I know, only the BMW X6 M can come close to it.I think it was like 4.3 s for the porsche and 4.4 or 4.5 for the BMW.Right?

I've had the X5M as well. They are both really fast and I'm pretty sure its faster. But the interior is the best in class by far. And the ride is amazing. Feels so much lighter on its feet compared to the M product which is very heavy.

However, the new X5M is coming out in a few months if that has any interest to you.

PS-- congrats on the TTS!!

No I am not interested about the BMW X5 M.I have always had an attraction for Porsche cars because you only see a few on the street as in comparison to BMW and Mercedes ,which are everywhere. This,IMO, makes Porsche more premium and special.

I had the current ML63 and now a Cayenne GTS. Hands down I would get the Cayenne. I'm much happier with our Cayenne GTS even though it has much less horsepower and torque than the ML63. There is no comparison in how the car drives. My wife would do anything to avoid driving the ML63 while she will take the Cayenne even over our M5 (she thinks the M5 is too aggressive). The Cayenne will be significantly more money if you get the Turbo even if you go easy on the options. If you don't need the extra space in the back that the two Mercedes give you over the Cayenne (which is smaller), I vote for the Cayenne.

Congrats on the TTS. It must have almost every option to be $225K. Pictures?

We owned two X5's the second we traded in for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S this summer was a top of the line model with 445hp Turbo V8, premium leather interior and premium sound but it doesn't compare to the Cayenne in finish. The seats and leather are better in the Cayenne, the engine is 100hp more powerful and the Cayenne is really setup so that you can take it offroad. The styling of the Cayenne is also superior IMO. It cost $70k more though and I probably could have gotten closer to the BMW with a GTS and more options for about $40k less than we paid. The Cayenne we bought was off the lot and MSRP was $153k but we didn't pay that, we got 9% off that and a good trade allowance.

Range Rover...

The lux blows them all away.

There really is no comparison.

So you say Range Rover? Well, I think it is the most luxurious SUV on the market.

Yes. As a Porsche fan, I was torn between cayenne turbo ore X5M for my wife. We test drove them and they all had major issues.

Neither one can really do the off road duty. The x5 interior felt really cheap, while my wife hated the cayenne external styling. Both cars were kind of cramped.

So I finally took her to RR. Wow. The off road track they took us on at the dealer had us sold.

The air suspension was super cool, refrigerator...check.

Interior trimming feels like a small business jet.

RR just dropped their highest HP truck if you're into that, but serioisly I would take an HSE over a cayenne turbo ore x5m any day.

They really excel at what you need them to do. Nobody is going to really track a cayenne turbo or x5m without looking like a tool.

The RR will take everything you throw at it, laugh and make you feel like a king...

Tomorrow I will go the local dealer and test drive a Range Rover.Lately I have watched some reviews online and I realise what it can do and how powerful it is.If we love it ,we will probably get Range Rover extended wheelbase Autobiography(it is 30$k more than a Cayenne Turbo). Now I understand that for an SUV ,the acceleration is not that important.I mean,5.5 s for RR LWB Autobiography is enough.I dont need Porsche s 4.3 s.The exterior of the RR is better looking to both me and my wife. Also,I am assuming that with options it will go to 170k-180k for the long wheelbase autobiography.I will come back tomorrow with more details after I do a test drive.
