Former 997.2 Turbo S 911 Cab owner looking to come back to 991 911 Turbo S Coupe
SubscribeI have abit in common with you. I had 997.2 for about a year, I still ask myself why I sold it. Since than I brought a gtr which I hated (pre facelift) sold that within 3 months. I than went down the Ferrari route and got a 458. I liked the car the noise the engine in the rear view mirror but the drive factor was missing. I had the car 6 months in which time it went back with suspension lift failure 7 times to the dealer. The last time it went in I rejected the car and demanded my money back. For about 2 weeks it was going back and fourth but eventually got my back and ordered a 991 turbo s instantly without a thought didn't even test drive it.
My conclusion porsche is the only way for me and I won't be parting with my 991 anytime soon get a turbo s you'll love it.

Its awesome, a guy came over the other day to take pictures for a magazine feature and I've been asked to bring it to a Ferrari festival (of all things) to be a feature car.Originally Posted by Treviso

That beast is just out of hand!!! I kept my 458, but sold just about everything else. I have recently been thinking about getting back into another 911 Turbo S...the 991 is really a fantastic car that is just so bulletproof. My last one was a 997.2 cabriolet, but this time I want a coupe. If I can find the right deal on a new one, I am going to pull the trigger.
The dealers are almost no help at all finding me a car...I'm stunned.

What's your definition of smoking? I was offered 166K for a 192K MSRP car. Is that smoking? 13.6%. I didn't do it. Might go pre-owned in the spring. These cars drops like rocks. Current lease expires in May. Timing is good for me.Originally Posted by Treviso

Was that on a 2014 or 15?
I would say that is a pretty smokin' deal! That is what I am looking for.

Indeed and that is why I got mine slightly used. Got a 2014 $192k msrp 991tts with 3k miles on it and $10k in aftermarket add ones for $157k. Now I am doing $6k worth of mods, IPD Plenum, Brombacher headers and FVD piggyback Tune. There are plenty of these kind of deals that show up. You just have to find a dealership that moves these slightly used ones. Park Place in Dallas and North Houston Porsche are the two in Texas.Originally Posted by eg991
Wow, that's a very nice discount. Makes you think about how quickly these cars will depreciate once they're actually driven off the lot!

Cars that have sustained a collision or other abuse will depreciate more rapidly than those that have not. It is definitely buyer beware. The deal car you have is the result of a collision-- front and rear. The point is they are priced accordingly and each buyer will understand for his own circumstances when each deal makes sense or not.Originally Posted by wrs

These cars suffer the same depreciation as any other car, phone, watch, whatever the luxury item. As 2014 was the first model year of the 991 Turbo, you can expect new issue problems as reflected in 5-6 campaigns (already!) for 2014's.
Now back to the topic: has the originator of this post formulated the options list that suits his fancy and did he get a car yet?
