NAV TV Front and Rear Cameras Installed in 991 Turbo S (Demonstration Video)
Although I had inserted this in my mod thread, I thought it deserves a separate thread for anyone who wants to add the NAV TV front and rear cameras to their 991 and integrate it right into the PCM.
Detailing Dynamics has now finished installing the NAV TV front and rear camera and integrated them into the PCM. It works like a charm. Front camera activates when you press the rear defroster button twice. Rear camera activates when you shift into reverse. See the attached video YouTube video of it in operation in my car.

When the NAV TV firmware was updated to support front and rear, only the front is activated with the def button push... I also notice that when in drive when I push the "CAR" button on the PCM display.. The rear camera is displayed on the PCM.
The one thing to consider is that for a single rear camera install the NAV-TV solution isn't completely necessary (other than the camera itself). All the NAV-TV module does is intercept the CAN-Bus codes that are sent to the PCM display, and sends codes to the PCM to switch in the external video. The Camera itself isn't even routed through the module as it goes directly into the PCM aux/camera input.
The benefit of the NAV-TV is if you use two cameras, then the cameras are both routed through and selected by the module.
I believe (I have not verified) that you can wire a camera directly into the PCM connector and if you had access to PIWIS tool to code the 991, the camera would be functional. Assuming you could get someone with a PIwIS tool or dealer to code it (Durametric doesn't code the 991s), all you would need is the camera.. That said I'm not sure the dealer will do this for you so for most people the expensive NAV-TV solution is the only viable option.
