991tt giac stage 2 vs E85 GTR

A friend of mine wants me to run a Nissan GTR with full bolt ons running E85. I believe he has most bolt ons and a crazy E85 tune. The car also has stock turbos

Anyone run a similar car? Opinions on outcome?

I have seen stock turbo e85 GTRs with custom tunes on the verge of blowing the motor north of 650 wheel that are very fast and would walk you easily. And I have seen others with mild canned tunes that you should beat easily.

Like Longboarder said, it really just depends how aggressive the e85 tune is. When my GT-R was a FBO e85 setup it was well over 650 whp and very fast.

I agree with the guys above depends on the tune. I ran a tuned 2012 gtr with an exhaust and my car was bone stock. The guy jumped me and still had no problem coming around him. Did a grudge match same result.

Here is a random video of both the cars tuned.

Depending on his launch set up, you may be able to beat him off the line and could likely beat him up top. But I can tell you, my FBO E85 gtr was truly nasty in the mid range.

I think if you can keep it close early you will pull him on top. I had a 627whp GTR and my turbo S would pass it and pull hard at high speed.

You should run full exhaust , headers , ipd plenum and methanol to beat the gt-r

A close friend owns an Ekutec E85 tuned GTR whith FBO and stock turbos, it dynoes 637hp on a dynojet and runs the 100-300 in 20'.
He kills another friend's stock 991TTS, but not dramatically.

I beat an alpha 7 GTR with my full exhaust + plenum and piggyback turbo S.

actually they were 3 Alpha 7s lol, each was making a bit over 600whp I believe, that was both running 98 octane pump though. I think if you have full bolt ons and plenum you stand a chance, and from 0 he'll have a very hard time catching up if anything.

I never saw them racing from a dig, but from a ~40mph roll on start the Ekutec E85 GTR takes 3-4 lenghts past 100mph to ~170mph.
I'm not sure this GTR would beat the 991TTS at a 1/4 race, needs more room.

We'd suggest adding an Aquamist HFS-4 methanol kit to the car, exhaust and a custom tune and you'd be able to beat him without issues. Unfortunately Cobb Accessport isn't out just yet otherwise we could whip up a custom tune for you to take him down If they're tuned extremely aggressively in midrange it may be a close run but they may also hurt internals during the run.

A proper meth kit with the built-in failsafes will/does do wonders on these cars especially given the DFI platform. Other than raising octane to beyond race gas levels you cool your charge air temps (IATs) to/just below ambient suppressing pre-ignition/knock. We've been tuning with the Aquamist kits for the last 8 years with consistently great results. E85 won't be a possibility on the 991 just like the 997.2 for now due to fuel demand imposed limitations but hopefully we'll get there sooner rather than later.

None unfortunately, he's a friend, I'll run him again and take a gopro clip.

It was weird cause he called me saying he raced another stage 2 TTS and the porsche was ahead of him by about 1/2 car to 1 car. When we raced difference was a little more than that for me. Then again I brake boosted that run.

Will see and get back on this.
