If you are highly dissatisfied or disgusted, sell it/ do not consider it and wait for something comparable to hit the market. Ultimately it's a choice and no best fit for everyone.
We all know how JM annihilated with a simple Cobb tune (no intercoolers, no Intake mods, stock tires, without a kill file, etc)....

Sorry WCC back on topic.
Yes JohnMorgan's car with the stock plenum was almost as fast as mine with full bolt ons. Awesome display of power by Cobb. I wonder if my Plenum is helping or hurting my quarter mile results.

I don't think Champion would put the Plenum on your car or leave it on if it was hurting it. They've had extensive time with the product on different models and great public results.

I agree. I know that Champion has a policy of testing modifications and not putting on modifications that do not increase power. I would just love to see the Dyno results on the plenum tfrom someone other than IPD. I have heard anecdotally that IPD plenum increases performance in the mid range while losing a bit of power at the top but that that is better for daily drivability.

It's interesting. It doesn't lose power up top but it looks that way I agree. What happens is the turbochargers just run out of steam and the big Gaines are in the mid range for that reason. With more Dyno testing on larger turbos we will see greater numbers up top. I can also tell you that stage two cars with the IPD kit make more power under the curve as reported by all customers on there butt dyno. I've had great experiences, all my kits will have IPD installed!

Yes for the 991 Turbo/Turbo S to be really fast at higher speeds they do need bigger turbos. Acceleration really does drop off a lot over maybe 100-120.

Greetings 6 Speeders,

Please don’t confuse IPD’s lack of forum involvement with being unable to defend our products or the respective gains we claim they deliver. Unlike many other after-market companies who invest countless hours promoting their respective products on forums, we as a company feel if you manufacture a great product that delivers quantifiable performance gains, then the Porsche forum members will promote and defend your product for you. Thousands of Plenums later I think it’s safe to say this business model has been very successful.

I know I speak for many other product manufacturers when I say that, it’s very challenging to promote, defend or share anything on forums when you’re met with “internet engineers” who have no personal experience with your product but will make it their personal mission to bash your posts and virtually crucify your product and name as if you slept with their wives. There are a couple of companies who don’t care for IPD (for whatever reason) so naturally their customers believe whatever they’re told as gospel. For each non-believer (both customers, tuning shops and dealers) there are hundreds of believers who feel the Plenum is the best product they represent and install on their Porsches. Still, not a bad ratio.

Here’s the bottom-line, The IPD Plenums are the absolute single best “Bolt-On” performance modification you can possibly install on a late model Porsche. Especially if you consider the $$$/HP ratio. If the IPD Plenum does not deliver the power and torque gains claimed by IPD then the Plenum was either not installed properly or the car had a pre-existing issue that prevented the engine from making peak power. If the Plenum didn’t work for you or deliver the gains we claim then give us a call so we can help trouble shot the situation and get the Plenum functioning properly.

Each and every IPD product (Plenums & Y-Pipes) comes with a 100% money-back-guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied. You truly have nothing to lose. If you don’t like it, return it. There aren’t too many companies that stand behind their product with such conviction. We sell quite a few Plenums everyday all over the world and we only see 3-4 returns each year. Again, not a bad ratio.

We test and re-test our products over and over both on the dyno and the “track”. We would never advertise power and torque claims that weren’t validated first. The 996 Turbo delivers the gains we claim, the 997.1 Turbo delivers the gains we claim, the 997.2 Turbo delivers the gains we claim. So why would we start lying about our gains now. We have worked very hard to establish a very well respected brand and product within the Porsche community and were not going to ruin that now.

Sorry to go on and on but again we haven’t posted anything in a while (LOL!!!). I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to all the loyal and dedicated IPD forum members and reputable tuning shops who have supported IPD over the years. It has been an absolute pleasure working with everyone. And let me apologize in advance if we don’t respond quickly to any responses to this post.

Cheers!!!

IPD Greg

I have the IPD plenum on my 997.2 and gain 30whp and 40wtq on our dyno... Start a thread last year about it... Rumors are that they using same model of plenum for the 991 and the fit is no 100% like it should be... So the "word on the streets" is that IPD didn't do all the homework that they did in previous models, again I just repeating what some say out there.

It have to be someone that can back the real story behind all this
