how do our cars fare against new z06?

To answer your question and to be realistic as can be depends on some factors.
First, what package does the car have? I believe there are 3 packages and the third
has the most down force. It will absolutely kill the car after around 200km and will start having it's affect at around 160.
Second, is the car with a manual trans or the new auto. Between the 2 is like a night and day difference. Also depends if it is from a roll or dig.
If you have a good driver. Knows what gear to start. Automatic trans and no down force package. It will not be a walk in the park. Some of the A8's are going in the low
10's. So let us be realistic.

Do you doubt the SAE certification process?
650 ft-lbs, plus RWD, plus a manual trans on a street tire = highly variable results.
If they don't spin and the driver can shift well they're pretty quick.

No doubt they are fast. A friend of mine had one in goldrush rally seven and his car was quick

This is a rool race on a 1/2 mile run on my Z06 with Z07 Packg with intake and tune vs a buddy of mine with a stock Turbo S
The Z06 a beautiful car and a terrific track toy (Z07 packg) but the 991TT is all that but much better

I believe that the comparison test with the Z06 was in Motor Trend and it had some defect so got a bad review. Weird thing about the comparison was that it had the AMG GT up against, among other less powerful cars, the GT4, but no TTS. Current and past Z06 is a very good track car, as is the C7 with the performance package, although the new Z06, I gather has blown more than a few engines at the track. Apparently they tend to overheat on road courses. Aside from overheating, I think that the Z06 is a very impressive car and a great value.Porsche's are engineered for track work and Chevy engineers have a bit of refining to do to achieve the reliability factor of our cars.
