It will be live on Periscope - search for Shift S3ctor. Tune in 9am PST Saturday and Sunday. It's beta so don't expect perfection because I believe it's from a cell phone. I don't know if they have a starting line or finish line camera or exactly what.
Pretty soon there will be something much better. i.e. NBC Drive network.
Oh cool thanks for the info, I'll have to check it out. Badass about NBC Drive. That would be sick
Add me to the list of By Design Stage III Cobb tuned Beasts! Fully installed and tested. Thank you SamboTT and Cobb for the time and effort at sorting out this beast! In the process I stumbled across a boost leak along with possibly sticking aftermarket DV's. The car is now smooth and extremely POWERFUL! I can take the wife out to dinner in normal stock 991 turbo mode which is as tame as OEM stock. However, when I hit sport plus it's like Bruce turning into the Hulk. I get an absolute beast! In addition to the full By Design Stage III, I went with exhaust headers. I was able to see the added benefit and the sound became even more throaty and aggressive. The TT now sounds like a high revving GT3 when running through the gears. Sam thoroughly explained the time and energy that went into each component of the stage III package. Everything from hardware to tuning. The stage III off the shelf map gets dialed in specifically to each vehicle to ensure a vehicle specific custom tune if necessary. The custom tuning can include specific variables to give the car the exact individual character desired. I will not post numbers because its not important to this post. Just wanted to answer the messages and PMs. I'm truly happy with the results!
Boy if that doesn't just answer all kinds of questions. How long did you have to wait for those headers? Five months? Six months? Are they coated?

What's up Long, are you going to this event? It will be interesting you have a "fun race" with my buddy White991TT hehe

Hey webcar yeah I will be there.
Will be interesting to see how Nigel's car does on trap speeds. I've always thought good designed headers and Catless exhaust would be a terrific combo on top end speed for half mile events and I know Sam does his homework (Sam hope to see you at the event!) Theory is that it would have a nice advantage over the stock headers/catted cars like mine, Mark and Arnie's 991's because EGT's become a major issue past 100mph sustained WOT. Good headers and Catless exhaust can alleviate this issue.
I'll be mostly a spectator. But I'll run whoever wants to run for fun.

Exactly Adam, I'm also interested to see how my car now performs in the traps with the new Cobb tuned setup. Although your running Methanol and I understand have been saving weight in removing seats, etc. I am looking forward to gauge how my car also now runs against yours.
For me it's a healthy exchange of information. In this whole process I've realized you never really know, until you know...
Yeah it's been an while. I promised for quite some time I'll get my butt out there. This Saturday will be it. It's definitely do and I really want to support Nigel and his kit because it's close enough to where I can. Can't wait to shake some hands and have a good time although I'm not looking forward to the 3:30 AM wake up call!
There's always a compromise with exhaust. This system is great all around at 70mm with the 100cell and decats. The 100cel catted cars did very well actually in all of our testing. The intercoolers help keep things under control as well. But the decat is just cool and has a slight edge. The manifolds definitely help tie the package together. Sound quality goes to 11 also!

I think it will be a good matchup. My car does really well in short distance races. But it doesn't have great top end. The meth doesn't give me any more power, it just allows me to prevent fuel cuts since I'm tuned right at the cars fueling limit.
The reason I say this is I think the car is making over 600 wheel, but only for a short period of time at WOT. After about 120-130mph, the rate of accel declines. So at these speeds point maybe I'm making 550 wheel. I think EGT's have a lot to do with this because I'm running catted exhaust with stock headers.
If a comparable car is making 600 wheel and can sustain the entire 600 wheel during an entire half mile run, that car will creep me up top. All things being equal (weight, aero, transmission, traction) the car with the most average HP during the run will win.
I see this when I run my friends e85 GTR's. Down low I can take them, but up top the ethanol does a great job at minimizing combustion temps and EGT's and they can beat me.
Anyway enough of the discussion time to race. See you guys soon.
