Shift Sector- Results are in!!
Yes I raced Marc a few times. The 20's are a huge impediment for the 991's.
The 991's have zero chance against a comparably equipped 997.2 with 19's. My 0-60's were consistent 2.7 to 2.8 and and 0-100's in 5.8's. On a dusty airstrip where you launch over a slippery painted surface. My buddy with a 665 wheel GTR I let him borrow my vBox he was doing 0-60 in 3.5's.
I'm gonna post my run against the 918 but on a dead even launch I pulled on it up to 100mph.
None of the Cobb 991's asked me to race Saturday. On Sunday I did race the 991 Turbo Cobb with upgraded turbos (Built by BBI) and put 6-8 cars on it. Out trapped it by 8mph.
Cheers

Oh and your dreaming if you think you can beat a upgrade it Turbo 991 with your stock Turbos lol
Oh and Also it was verified most all cars were a few miles per hour plus faster from Saturday to Sunday on the event

Someone would have to be pretty mindless to post the name of a dealer who may or may not be willing to cover a modified car under warranty if something breaks. You and I both know it happens and there are many variables in such circumstances such as relationship with dealer, severity of failure, nature of failure, etc. some dealers even install modifications other than CMS gear. There isn't a need to be holier than thou with the warranty comment on a thread about performance and racing. Some people are willing to take the risk when weighing the reward. Same goes for buying track insurance. Regular car insurance doesn't cover you if you wreck on a track but that doesn't stop people and not many buy track insurance.
In the absence of the q, there would not be an answer. Be careful what you ask for...

FWIW CMS does warranty their work. No special arrangement with me, but for everyone.

Ok great! Let's all head down to FL for our mods now!
Cmon Long... You really believe the 991 with same mods than you will loose against you bc of the 20's??? Lol I will bet $1,000 on Nigel 991 against your .2 on a roll race o dig race (same tires on both) same day, same conditions... I mean race at the same time, no trap battle on different days

I have a pretty clear vid of a dead even start and I murdered the Cobb upgraded turbo 991. It was built by BBI. He was running pump. I was running pump + meth.
I raced Marc a few times. And even when I was misfiring at the top end, I pull such a huge lead and he can't get near me, even when he was trapping higher than me. Marc will be the first to tell you. Same result would have occurred with any 991 GIAC or Cobb or whatever. There is no way any 991 at this even could have kept it close to me in a dig race. The Cobb guys could have asked for a race. I would have been more than happy to race and get it on vid.
Show me this data. My friends were slower on Sunday.

Webcar, you were not at the event. You have no idea what went on. Saturday/Sunday. It's the same event. Just because the GIAC cars outtrapped the Cobb cars you need to minimize these accomplishments? Marc and I did our 164's after 11am. It was warm by then with a headwind. sidewind on Saturday.

I gotta go with mi hermano on this one. However to be honest the 997.2 platform is not at all a focus. If LB didn't hang out in the 991 forum we wouldn't even be having this conversation. I have a 170+ mph 1000 hp camaro that I could bring back out for that. Not necessary. The challenge is in breaking the 991 platform past its performance sticking point. There were a number of fast cars at the event including an 200+ mph 911. Didn't bother me one bit that he was purpose built for 200+. Im impressed with where things have gone in a short time. I can say with certainty SamboTT and Cobb have a few things in store for this platform that will shock the world! Its coming....
We were there to answer a question. Ive posted the answer.

Agreed 100%
Long, the data is there, you did 164 like Nigel (different days but whatever) so if you are confedence that you will win just race him on the next event, I don't have to be there to know the facts... Remenber I have both cars (.2 and 991) and I know for sure 991 will be faster with same mods

Again show me this data. A bunch of my friends were faster Saturday. Sunday had a headwind. It was cloudy and humid and barometric pressure was lower, so lower DA. You have no facts. You weren't there. The fact that you say you will bet $1,000 against me shows you know absolutely nothing.
Now, my friend Marc Blackwell was trapping higher than me on Saturday and even Sunday morning while I was adapting to the new set up. But we raced. A few times. What do you think happened on these races? Do you think he won because he had a higher top speed every time? If you do, then you know nothing about racing. Racing is about getting to the finish line first on a clean start. In that regard, NO 991 or 997.2 could have come even close to me. If the Cobb guys thought they could beat me, do you think they would have asked for a race? Ask your Cobb friends that question.
I was posterizing everything from a dig, well except the 918. That car launches very hard. But I gave it a go. We launched dead even and up to 100mph, I pulled it by a nose until his 887 HP took over and of course pulled up top:

Um I think we've kind of conceded the point that Shift Sector was not about you and your 997 is the fastest on earth. No more arguments.
Just sayin'

Nigel, look at what your hermano is saying above. It was never about my 997. This is a 991 forum...although there is some overlap as we share the 3.8 DI with PDK platform. But it all changed when webcar comes in here spewing garbage and betting $1,000 that you would have beat me. So I can't respond to his post?
I'll make you a deal. I won't post again here unless someone else wants clarification from me or simply posts BS against me or GIAC.
