Mark you truly did have some exceptional times that day. I am not taking that away from you. The post was made for the purpose of clearing false information.
Everyone knows the record setting car had nitrous on it. There is no denying that and it only speaks more to the versatility of the accessport and the ability to custom tune that kind of setup. The customer wanted the fastest 991 in the world at the time with the resources available, period. At the end of the day it still had stock turbos on it. If we start picking and choosing what the stock turbo record is because the mods are "cheating" or not in the normal upgrade path we start down a slippery slope of erroneous records.
Mitch and I both were at Red List supporting four 991s, and two 997.2s. Since all the cars there were hot lapping we were constantly checking datalogs and getting customer feedback. We do this not only to ensure the happiness of the hundreds of 991 turbo customers we have already, but so we can continually evolve our products to remain the tuning solution that the fastest guys choose to use.
All customers running an Accessport yesterday left happy and running at the end of the day, with an overall 2nd place finish(Nigel) and new 997.2(Chris) world's fastest trap record to boot.
Mitch/Jon
I know you guys have put a lot of work into your products and from what I can see you have excellent tech support which is awesome. We all had a fun day of racing which is what it's all about. I have no doubt you will have the 991 dipping into the nines shortly and hopefully I can get there as well.

OK...I'm sorry, but with all due respect guys, any tuner can accommodate a car running meth, C16, or nitrous....but most do not because they know the consequences, as I'm sure the owner of that car quickly found out.
Sure....you're right, it's not really possible to start picking and choosing what upgrades can be used as an apples to apples comparison, but I think most would agree that in order to claim a record, the car should at least not self-destruct itself in order to get the record. The turbos blew on that car shortly after setting that "record".
If we tuned a GIAC car to that level, shattered all your records, but blew it up and the end of the 1/4 mile, I'm sure you'd be saying the same thing I am.
I don't mean to cast shade on any of your accomplishments, as there are definitely many and I respect them all. But this is business after all, and business is a competition, so I'm just stating the facts.

What that customer wanted to do was his prerogative. He wanted the fastest 991 at the time and did what was necessary to make it happen. Knowing full well the consequences.
At Redlist the IPD/ByDesign stage 3 car running pump gas and meth was faster than any other stock turbo 991 on pump or race gas at 134.04mph. Granted there was a quicker ET.
When Posrche guys want to set records they go with COBB and it shows:
You have to hand it to Champion/GIAC.
Champion sponsors this forum and they are very classy and stay out of the bantering, and watching there competitor beat their chest!
It's always a two-way street everyone. People respond, naturally. I think the guys are just trying to get the facts straight. It's already out there that the fastest 991TT's in the world are running Cobb. Maybe Turbo Mike or another stage III can beat or back this up without the crazy chemicals soon In the end when all of this levels out people can choose. I don't think anyone knows how things got so out of control. There so many threads I repeat myself a lot too. Both tuners are obviously very capable not to mention put a lot of effort in their product. The two options here have their different individual benefits. People can decide. Facts, Coke/Pepsi and coexistence for president!

I'm all for the puppy thread, we are flying to Kansas to pick up our new puppy on Friday,

Hi Karl,
I started this thread separately to respect Mark's post about our compititor's tune and not hijack it. This thread was simply to state what the record was and still is. The bantering did not begin until other's weren't able to accept that it was still in fact the stock turbo record.
As a professional on the forums I make a point of professional courtesy to never post in a competitor's thread. I try and only make posts with facts and information. If you consider this "beating our chests" I apologize but our accomplishments, with the help of our long list of ProTuners, are what is leading this platform and they deserve the credit we all work so hard for.

You have quite the setup going on and it works great for you! Those launches were awesome to watch. Congrats on the awesome times thus far and hopefully the future holds bigger and better things for you and your car! The competitiveness is what drives us all. That dog is also ridiculously awesome.

+1...
I do think that their should be two separate "categories" for records. One with just bolt ons, and the other where everything goes(nitrous/meth/upgraded fuel systems). That is just my opinion but I think most consumers/members would think this makes sense. How many modded cars are going to be running nitrous/meth? A handful compared to the bolt on mod group. BTW my opinion has nothing to do with who holds the quarter or half mile or zero to 60 records. I think records are meant to be broken, I'm sure it will go back and forth to the different tuners at different points in the future. Just trying to give honest feedback from a member/consumer perspective.
