991 Stock Turbo 1/4 Mile Record Remains at 10.08
I guess I've missed out on the drama.
I tuned the Vengeance built 991 that's been discussed in here, and apparently a few other threads. A lot of what has been said is true, this customer didn't care what it took, he wanted the fastest 991 at the time.
The day that the 991 AP became available I had it on the dyno tuning for nitrous, the next day was a drag event (at the worst drag strip in the southeast IMO) which is where he ran 10.08 and has yet to return to the strip. That pass was dialed back to a 50shot and no meth, they were very traction limited due to track conditions.
Since then, he has done well over 10 standing half mile passes all around 170mph and the fastest being 171.88mph.
I wasn't aware of any turbo failure, but just talked to the customer and apparently there was a turbo seal issue, and the car started smoking. Porsche warrantied the turbo without question, that alone leads me to believe that it wasn't related to the modifications.
The good news is, it sounds like we will be taking the car back to the track in the coming weeks. Hopefully I will be able to put my second 991 in the 9s

What 991 did you get to run I the 9"s ?
And 171 is flying in 1/2 mile congrats
i had issues with the clutch slipping and car going into limp or safe mode. as you can see i did 2 other test passes and one pass without launch control with bad 60ft but trap speed indicating the power the car is making with less slippage due to not launching the car i guess. using vbox in the street the car always traps 225+km
i also went 10.1@222 and 10.5@227.88
