Longboarder Joins the Family
I just couldn't resist.
I got the itch for a 991 back in April/May. Found the exact build spec I wanted at a SoCal dealer and test drove it. It's such a different car than the 997.2. Feels like a 2 generation advancement not 1. It's so comfortable, quiet, luxurious and IMHO is much better looking (subjective of course). The suspension and steering are fantastic...and is the big difference in the comfort factor. I can see how purists would say it's numb compared to the 997. The 991 is also larger, heavier and has smaller turbos so it feels quite a bit slower than the stock 997.2. The powerband is so linear it feels naturally aspirated in comparison.
This car was meant for me. When I test drove it back on May 6 it had 41 miles on the ODO. When I picked it up yesterday it still had 41 miles. The car was at the dealer's underground storage the entire time....just waiting for me lol.
2015 TTS white with black interior, glass panel roof, interior carbon, aerokit in gloss black, burmester and a couple other options.
Cheers.

I give it a few weeks before at a minimum:
1. Champion intercoolers
2. GIAC Stage 2+
3. Some sort of high flow catted exhaust (as I don't think Longboarder goes catless).
Within three months:
1. Aquamist water meth injection
2. Champion Motorsports turbo upgrade.

Haha maybe but for now I'm keeping the 997.2 as the fuel system upgrade will happen on that car first. I think the goal is to perfect it on the 997.2 before trying on the 991.
I like the innovation side of things. Being the first to upgrade the fuel system and try meaningful amounts of e85 has me excited to see where a basically stock (motor, trans, turbo) 3.8 DI motor can go.
