Longboarder Joins the Family
I just couldn't resist.
I got the itch for a 991 back in April/May. Found the exact build spec I wanted at a SoCal dealer and test drove it. It's such a different car than the 997.2. Feels like a 2 generation advancement not 1. It's so comfortable, quiet, luxurious and IMHO is much better looking (subjective of course). The suspension and steering are fantastic...and is the big difference in the comfort factor. I can see how purists would say it's numb compared to the 997. The 991 is also larger, heavier and has smaller turbos so it feels quite a bit slower than the stock 997.2. The powerband is so linear it feels naturally aspirated in comparison.
This car was meant for me. When I test drove it back on May 6 it had 41 miles on the ODO. When I picked it up yesterday it still had 41 miles. The car was at the dealer's underground storage the entire time....just waiting for me lol.
2015 TTS white with black interior, glass panel roof, interior carbon, aerokit in gloss black, burmester and a couple other options.
Cheers.

Great choice, my previous car was a 12 TTS as well. The suspension, handling, comfort, and looks are superior. I am much faster on a road course in a 991 chassis. Engine/PDK are similar, with stage 2 or 3 will be plenty fast. Enjoy, I haven't looked back!

Is that the one they do in Palos Verdes? From the pics they take I wanted to go to that one for a while to look at the old air cooled turbos that show up. I really want one however think ill wait for the next economic crash. Can you shoot me a link to the meet spot? Thx.

Ha I knew you secretly had a crush/Fetish Re: a WHITE 991!
Lol J/K
Congrats these cars are really the automotive champs.. There is nothing available at this price point that compares.... with mods forgetaboutit!
Looking forward to seeing where you take the platform. There really are only a handful of what I call "power users" at this level. Guys willing to reasonably push the performance envelope of the 991 platform to new heights!

Is this beauty going to be your next "weapon" or a marvellous daily driver to complete the garage?
Great combo anyway!

I want to hold off on serious mods for a while and just enjoy it as is for now. The tracks are pretty harsh on cars so my plan is to keep the 997 and use that for race events. But I do want to be the first to do e85 on the 991. It yields incredible power. My buddy Eric with the dark gray GTR at RedList did 138.5 with three mods - tune exhaust and e85 fuel system. Imagine our cars in e85! We need a fuel system though. It's holding the platform back but preventing more things from breaking haha.
Speaking of breaking things, my axle was a cheap and easy fix but I'm afraid it's going to keep happening if I go to the drag strip or launching at the airstrip so I'm contemplating Level 5 axles capable of 1,000 TQ. Hope it doesn't happen to any other 997 or 991 but it's really inevitable as a lot of us are now on MT's.
Glad to hear you got 2nd at Red List. That's two second places for us now. Next event we need a first place! Just takes someone willing to hot lap and Red List needs to get their act together the lines to run were bad.
Anyway see you at exotic Shift Sector in February should be a much better event with not many cars and plenty of time to match up with everyone.
