991 Turbo on
Yes...that's one of our cars from test-and-tune night at PBIR last night. But let's be honest, you already knew that because....well, we both know how you got that picture, don't we?
Since we still don't have our upgraded compressor housing 68mm turbos yet, we decided earlier in the day to still take the car to the track and test a new tire setup and work on lowering our 60' times. That was fairly successful, and we pulled pretty consistent 1.5-1.55 60' times...for the 3 runs we actually got.
On the way to the track, the car threw a CEL for a faulty primary O2 sensor on bank1 which was causing it to break up halfway down the track, and our trap speeds clearly suffered from it. On our last run the trap speed was just over 135mph, but the car was still breaking up badly from the bad O2 sensor unfortunately.
The track was SUPER crowded, probably over 100 cars there, and some cars kept breaking down on the track causing major delays so eventually we just left. But on the bright side, we found a nice tire combination that should work out really well once we get the new turbos on the car and head back up to the track.

Thanks, we'll get it fixed up and back to the track soon.

Funny...you don't hesitate to post our bad results (without even knowing the circumstances) but you won't post yours? I see...
You see....this the kind of BS I was referring to in another thread.
Who cares who does what? Just do your thing, post if you like and move on.
Maybe it's me, and perhaps I am missing something so let me ask: is there a Cobb vs. Champion mini-war going on?
What I do see is, and its comical to me: I see many GIAC tuned cronies question just about every little accomplishments achieved by Cobb tuned guys. I also noticed a little quirky thing: it seems that if Cobb does something first, then many GIAC guys open a Pandora's box of question as to imply things accomplished are not possible unless GIAC does it first. I also see Cobb cronies provoke GIAC guys...rub it in their faces.
Where, Why and How this entire BS started...your guess is at good as mine, but dayum!!! I see it on both the 997.2 and 991 sections.
Just in case, flame suit is on...
Thanks,
E-Gear

Lol Yeah E-Gear this little debates are going on for some time... Long story short a few years ago giac was the best option to go all out with your 997 and the very begining of the 991, then COBB joint the party and just like that is the best option for your 997 & 991
obviously giac (and long partner champion) are a little upset lol, But hey it's OK, is good this company's push the envelope more and more because we (the customers) are the ones who have the "glory of there achivements"
Saying that I just gonna drop this in here because I don't have to hide anything
This was my best ET pass (look at the Humidity and IAT, going soon with better tires)

ByDesign IC's and Stock Housing Turbos
Kline Exhaust

The original post here is a perfect example of that. Although there were no Porsches at the track Friday night, there was a tuner there working on another car, who is active on this forum. Although he knew our car was having an issue, somehow literally within 30 minutes of our run down the strip, a picture of our car and the result of our worst run of the night made it into the hands of the OP and was posted on here. Was there malicious intent there? I don't know, and it doesn't matter really. You can decide. But I had to at least come in and explain why the car ran so much worse then we expected. I feel like that was the least I could do to explain the situation in total fairness to the guys on my end who've worked so hard on our car.
Ironically, behind the scenes most of us representatives of each company are totally friendly and respectful of one another. I talk to Sam all the time, we've become good friends through all this LOL. Sam and I even talked today and had a good laugh over the whole situation (well, that and his home improvement problems LOL, Sam I hope those problems go "down the drain" haha
) I have a ton of respect for Mitch and Jon from Cobb as well. There is NO mini-war between us AT ALL! The "war" is between just a few handful of users on this forum, which I can assure you, are in absolutely no way representative of the way either company feels or would act.
