Toby22 is infamous around these parts
Congrats on the Porsche. Never liked the I8, looks like some economy car trying to look exotic. Just doesn't work with its high roof line and awkward shape.

We have an i3 and drive it almost every day. It's nothing like a Prius, which was my daughters last car. For starters, it's a true electric car, not a hybrid. It has a 70 mile electric range at 138 eMPG, the best of any car the world. It also has a generator option to charge the batteries if you run low, and that will give you another 70 miles before you need to add a gallon of gas to it's tiny tank.

The electronics on board are identical to my BMW X5, which are incredible. It looks totally funky, but feels totally solid for a small car. The interior is roomy enough for 4 adults or 2 adults and large Costco run.

I leased the car for $350 A month on a 24 month lease with no money down and the car cost nothing to run. Honestly, after having it more than a year, I love this car!!!

i think BMW of manhattan has a few brand new year old I8's in their basement. I laugh at many people who were paying over sticker for these when they came out. Not a great product for bmw. Can't get rid of them today. Congrats on your turbo, much better car.

It amazes me how poorly they introduced those cars. I was told there wouldn't be a car for me for 2 years and shoo'ed away like a second class person (which I am... I'm totally low class , but I didn't need my nose rubbed in it.)

2 months later they called back and said they had many more than they expected now.

Naturally I was no longer a customer. If they had rolled it our more thoughtfully, I would have been.

To be honest, I loved the car aside from it's gutlessness and lack of grip. I may revisit the dealer in a couple years. I bet they'll have some incredible lease turn-in values from people who barely ever drove them. The 24 month depreciation value on our i3 lease is .61
