Turbo S vs GTS

Turbo S vs GTS
Hello all.
I'm in the market for my first 911 purchase. At first I was going to get the Turbo S but now seeing some reviews about the GTS I'm leaning towards it because do I really need that much horsepower that the Turbo S has. Just looking at the numbers the GTS has the perfect balance between the Carrera S and the Turbo S. Please help guys I am very split on this.
Thanks a ton!

There is simply no comparison between the power of these two cars. And for not much more money you can tune the turbo to about 700 crank horsepower and get high flow cats or catless for the sound

This is very true! I think most in this section will say the same thing; there is simply no comparison between power levels on a GTS and a Turbo S, none. And, the TTS upgrades to big power for very cheap money...like any FI vehicle!

RWD or AWD
If you feel the need for tremendous HP & neck jolting acceleration spend the extra $ on TTS. Unless you're going to the drag stip or plan on insane speed, is that much power really necessary? The power in these cars has gone up exponentially over the years. Even spirited HWY driving you get to incredible speed within seconds. With few modifications the Turbos are even more insane!
The GTS is RWD unless you choose the "4" & a completely different driving experience. It's also available with a manual. A buddy of mine gave up his 991 GT3 & loves the feel of his new GTS. It handles well at the track. Porsche Excellence gave it a glowing review, might want to look into that.

I personally think if looking at the turbo S, but wanting to possibly go naturally aspirated, the GT3 should be cross shopped. It's not that much more money over the GTS, but it's twice the experience. I love the turbos and plan on getting another one in a year or so, but the GT3 is just wild. It also is easily comfortable enough in stock form to daily or take the wife to dinner in. My old GTR was rougher around the edges than the GT3 is.

Hello,
I'm currently driving a RWD 2015 GTS. It is a great ride and I love it. It really made me fall in love with Porsche.
Now, with that being said I just ordered a TTs. You can't really compare the cars. Both in performance and cost. Here in Canada my TTs is almost 70k more than my GTS cost.
Like others have said. You NEED to drive the two to understand the difference.
Good luck.

Off of my own test drives and having owned Turbo's and GTS's through various model lines, I would do the Turbo all day long.
Although the GTS is more engaging to drive then the the Turbo variation, the turbo trumps it in almost every other department. More standard equipment, nicer interior, bigger brakes, etc.... Also I felt that the GTS is wonderful for shorter, spirited drives but anything over 30 miles I much rather be in the turbo. The turbo's ride is a little less in your face and more compliant over nasty surfaces.
