Have a 2015 991.1 Turbo S Cab with a $210K sticker for $164K
- OR -
A 2016 991.2 Turbo (non-S) Cab with a $193K sticker for $160K
"Regular" turbo has more creature comforts; "S" model has more performance oriented items. Both have same miles, both dealer CPO'd. Same colors.
I plan to add exhaust to both. I would leave "S" otherwise stock, but I would likely ECU tune the "Regular".

My answer is based on the assumption that you likely won't track a cab, so I would go with the newest model. The tune and exhaust should make them close enough in speed, that it won't be a very noticeable difference from that perspective.
Agreed. Porsche doesn't go backwards when they introduce a new model. The new ecu programming on the .2 and the pdk updates including the paddle shifting feel are significant.
the non-S .2 doesn't have nearly the upgrades as the S. I would go with the 2015 in my personal opinion and enjoy the warranty that the tune would partially complicate.
I presume the non-S doesnt have PCCBs, which are a significant benefit to me.

Now I'm confused. Magazines report 2016 as the first year of the .2 but the 2016 Turbo I'm considering decidedly looks like a .1. Dealer also confirms its a .1 and that the .2 doesn't start until 2017, at least on the turbo.
Now I guess my question is easier to answer. 2016 turbo vs 2015 TS for similar price.

Sam, I'm in City of Industry. We need to talk.

Non-s is missing PCCB and PDCC, but it has extra "everyday" options like Adaptive Cruise and Burmester. I drive in LA traffic everyday so the ACC is actually very attractive to me. 7 of my last 9 cars have had it, and I really missed it in those 2.
Yeah it's a .1
Normally myself and several others would say S all the way. But I totally get you with the other options and the fact that you can get the power anyhow. Yachting Blue in a cab with Burmeister and Adaptive cruise is attractive in Cali!
Sure pal anytime! Good luck!

PCCBs vs. ACC? Oh man... I'd look for a third car that had both.
