EVO magazine 991.2 TS acceleration test
The first acceleration test I have seen on the 991.2 TS is in the latest issue of EVO magazine. From the article, it's an actual test, not a simulation or estimate as they paired a bunch of cars against each other and tested them 0-60mph, 1/4 mile, 30-70mph 3rd gear passing, 100mph - 0 braking and around the Rockingham track in the UK.
No mention of timing equipment that I saw (I skimmed the article), nor did they use a dedicated drag strip. I believe they used a flat airport runway for the timed straight line acceleration and braking tests. The latest GTR did a 11.6 in the article, so I'm inferring there was not much prep if any.
They paired the 991.2 TS with a Jag F-type R
The 991.2 TS:
0-60mph 2.6sec
1/4: 10.5 @ 132.8mph
It seems to jive with the game's VBOX results he posted a while ago.

Typical Porsche fashion, these new .2 seemed way underrated from the factory.
I bet it's really making 35 to 40 HP over the .1 models. Combined with better stock Pirelli tires and PDK re- programming and so on...it may explain it's two tenth or so quicker ET's and roughly 1 mph faster in the 1/4 mile.
These are initial test, but it sure appears stock vs stock, the .2 is a little quicker in the 1/4 mile vs the .1.
If all is true, I can see .2's running 10.0's with just a basic tune and exhaust.
Time will tell
Thanks,

The mph is most impressive and a pretty big leap. Sounds weird to say, but I hope it has at least the 997.2 TS capabilities with stock turbos and fbo/tune.

I incorrectly called you "the game", but crazy how close to your time it is.
I'm hoping your right. Time will tell. I think it will be a while before they have compelling upgrades for this platform judging how long it took for the .1s to rule the roost with the Cobb & By Design Stage 4 builds. ~3 years.
The programming on the .2 is next level stuff for an oem to deliver stock w/full warranty.
I hope I'm wrong though.

...im scared to do a tune with how RIGHT this car is out of the box
I question if the tunes don't actually take away from the cars intended demeanor and "we" get so caught up in the .01's of the second
to ME its about seat of the pants and experience

Good point.
I think what happens is: lots of folks bolt on parts and make crazy power, but then they can't hook unless they slap on some DR's...then again, there goes the all around car balance. I believe this is what you are referring to.
I am like you though, I do not want to mess up the balance of the car by going overboard. I think exhaust and a tune will be good enough for me along with IC's for consistency. Heck, considering how my car ('16 TTS) has responded thus far [10.30's] stage 1 tune only...I think 10.0's or better may be in the cards...all on stock Pirellis with 100% stock drivability.
Thanks,
E-Gear
