Just to change turbos, nothing else. Change from stock to TIAL upgraded impeller 68's.

Curious what people are paying. Getting quotes below $1k all the way up to $3,700.

Hey Adam, usually there's a bunch of other stuff intertwined but it should be under 1000. Some guys really run away with the book times! Depending on mileage/services and other modifications there's definitely ways to get creative and efficient.

Will be cool if you get back into horsepower thing. Thought you were over it and tune only.

 

You talking about the price for the labor not the turbos obviously.

 

Thanks Sam yeah I figured about a grand and was kinda perplexed by the $3,700 quote. Maybe that includes the turbos minus the cores and install?!?

To be honest I don't know exactly what I'm going to do just yet. To me it's a boring car even as quick as it is tuned but I never drive it so I ought to sell it or spice it up a little. The idea I have is something no one has done. Might not work but trying something different is fun to me. I have now turned my 997.2 into a track only car so I'm bringing power down a lot with a linear boost profile and maybe only 600 bhp so I thought well I have the 991 just sitting here so....

My P dealer quoted 8 hours but they are giving me a break as they also have now completed Kline inconel catless + Kline headers then on another occation ic's for me...turbo's going on next week...yippee
They mentioned $1K CDN so about $770 USD

 

Haha it would cost me $1k for turbo install and $25k for room, day/night club, meals and other incidentals.

$3700 is insane!!

The entire job is maybe 1 day of labor at most. Altogether you should be at or just below $1000.

 

At first I thought this was cost for turbos and labor and I was amazed in relation to cost for my old RS7.

 

Did you forget to list strippers? Or are strippers a sub-category under "incidentals"?
