i have chatted with the owner of wannagofast and with rollout to reach out. neither seem interested in enforcing any form of safety other than a helmet and a cursory tech for drips and tires.

for me i race with a full suit roll bar hans and full face helmet. i take care of myself and pray others will do the same. what astounds me is folks dont blink at dropping 3000$ for wrap or a set of wheels but wont take the time or money to ensure their own safety.

when you see a guy in basketball shorts a tshirt running 218 mph in a gallardo you know the rules are about making money

Someone will get hurt or die. It is inevitable. And then these events are likely over.

I dont wish that on anyone. And making tech more of a requirement along with qualifying non licensed drivers would go a long way in preventing just such a tragedy. Its inherently dangerous but can be made as safe as possible while still being reasonable.

as for streetability the first 218 mph pass at clayton ga was a 2r gallardo that the owner drove 100 miles from atlanta ran the car and drove it home. street tires and all!
I also run the mile and longer events so I have the same fire suit sfi3.5 with nomex head sock and socks and shoes, With my modded TTS I can no longer be in the stock exotic class which lets you run to 205mph, now I have to go in the modded A-2 class which I can still " only " run 205mph but now I need the roll bar and harness and arm straps, which is the reason I went with the GMG roll bar and Sparco seats and Schroth harnesses, and fire ext. I feel safer with this anyways. I am not required to have a Hans but I am looking into it.

Sorry about your transmission hope you feel up to pulling it out and getting it fixed soon so you can get that beast on the road, it will be worth it

dale ernhardt is the only thing you have to know in making a decision as to whether you run a hans or not. consider this. your entire upper body is strapped solidly into the car by a typical 6 point harness. arm straps dont allow your arms to flail and your entire upper body mass cant move. now strap a 1-2 lb helmet on your head and its allowed to move forward backward and sideways. receipe for disaster. hans can be had for under 600$ and may be the single most important piece you buy. and please remember the sfi3.2a/5 suit gloves and shoes are only good for about 15 seconds of full burn. after that they start to melt.
