I can't wait to see the videos. The performance you get out of your 997.2 is crazy, especially with cats. I would rather run cats than not.

 

Thx bro. Definitely a lot of testing/evaluation that went into it over the years. My goals have nothing to do with achieving a drag strip ET or 1/2 mile trap speed. It is liberating. My goal is beating the car(s)/motorcycles I'm racing...that's it. So the focus is holistic on the entire car. How it performs in all conditions at both straight line and track disciplines. In that regard I do rely on quantitiative data analysis so see what works best.

I go into every race with the mindset that I will win no matter what. Porsche gave us an incredible platform to make that happen. This is fun.

Adam thats a Shift sector record for you Congrats car was running great. Arnie where were you? not sure if anyone saw this but the 488's kind of fell on there faces. The videos we have all seen of them destroying a tuned 911TT didnt pan out. 155mph and 160 mph and both of them were tuned. A Cobb or Giac tuned car would eat these for lunch.

 

Wow, I was hiding. As you know Mark, I have nothing to prove, and I can only attest to the fact that my 488 crushes my TTS. My 488 is stock and brand new. I'm sure it will quite a bit fasted with a few miles on it. I posted that video for the world to see. We ran from a roll 5 times, and it was no contest. PS, my car is running the GIAC stage 2+ Tune and GMG race exhaust.

I still have not seen a non-modded super car (not hyper) beat a 488 GTB.

this is sarcasm right? I raced a 488 from 40-140 and pulled 15 cars on him. My manual 997turbo is hardly a hypercar.

 

Arnie I was hoping you would be there as both the 488's were tuned and IMO didnt run anywhere near what I thought they would, I wanted to see what yours would do as it is stock. All I know is your TTS would have beaten both these cars.

I saw your Video so I know how your car runs. Hopefully we get a chance to hang out next time

 

I hear from people who have owned almost all of them how quick these 488's are as well. I wonder if they have good days and bad days. It is new so software revisions are quite possible. I'm going to try to get out to the next event and hang out with all my boys. I really missed it. Hanging out with the family is pretty great but I was on the phone with five of you anyhow LOL!

We were hoping to see Vincent pass the magic 176 and break Nigel's record out there but his methanol wasn't working right. Still, 168 just about on race gas was pretty good!

Uri did great at 163 on my off-the-shelf stage III map.

Mike absolutely crushed it hitting 163 in his 991.2 with our exhaust system. He was a couple miles an hour faster than the other ones out there.

Adam, you definitely have the drag racing part down. You got those R888's hooking. Did you ever end up doing your seats. I'm trying to convince Vincent to do it but the turbo seats are so luxurious.

Mitch from Famous also had an awesome day. He hit 176 in the Lambo for the first time I think.

Betim belted out a 195+ in that 997! Wow!

I'm sure your 997 is a monster. I still think I'll stick with my dog slow 488

Whole other level in my mind. You are comparing a $190ish car to a $330+ car. The 488 is borderline ultra exotic to hyper. Since it is so slow I will trade any day for your stock 488 for my or any 991 (built or not), deal? . If I had one it would stay at home as well.

 

My Apologies I didn't see the non stock part. I am pretty sure the 650, 675 beat it stock.
