Hmm. . .I don't know if it's enough to get me out of a 997, but I am getting excited. I will say this, though, I can't wait to check it out in person. I am interested to see what kind of updates the mid cycle refresh will bring.

that's what I'm thinking. I see the value in the updates that the 991 delivers, I'm not sold on it. Maybe the mid-cycle refresh in 4-5 years will up my interest as well as give some time for the 997 to find it's place in terms of value and interest.

Apparently that's all that's needed to provide the downforce required. The new spoiler can also be raised to a much more aggressive angle at higher speeds.

I still prefer the look of the previous generation spoilers, but can see how this design is more effective for rear downforce application as well as providing more flexibility in terms of variable deployment angle.
