991 S Spotted in Newport Beach
I was driving home today and spotted a Dk Blue 991 S Driving around. Some personal notes. Looks very similar to the current model, only us enthusiast will really know the difference from a quick glance. The "s" model has a much wider look to it from the rear. The Dark Blue color is very nice looking with a black hue at many angles. The sound of the engine/exhaust is much improved. I have a vid driving behind it but not sure how to upload on here.

No silver band on inside of door...this one is not leather interior I believe? Also I have not seen many w/out the paddles on the steering wheel.
He REALLY needs clear turn signal markers on the front - BIG TIME.
Also, regarding the paddles - that is only on the Sport Design wheel. This guy has the stock steering wheel so he shifts with buttons.

You can't get one "not leather". All 991's are leather. The reason he doesn't have the visible aluminum strip is that he ordered leather door trim option (which I think is a bad idea - it actually needs that aluminum strip to complete the look). Basically his aluminum strip is covered in tan leather per his request.

Someone on rennlist, I think, said that non-full leather ones lack the chrome siding on the inside of the door, and he went on to say that cars who have ordered adaptive sport seats (the ones with the plastic behind) instead get a patching strip of plastic there on the door.
It's all a big mystery.
You said this "991 is not leather interior". They all have leather interior - maybe just not full leather - i.e. you can't get a cloth interior which I thought you were inferring.
This guy either:
A. Didn't get FULL LEATHER add-on and therefor didn't get aluminum door trim.
B. Got full leather with leather covering the door trim strips.
I think your initial idea was right - he got partial leather interior.
And your renn comment is correct - partial gets no trim.

It's a Porsche NA car. Georgia plate. Probably there for the Porsche sales rep driver education/introduction to 991/training. "This guy" never ordered anything.

+1 on that. 10 plates "assigned" to Porsche North America, NOT registered. HT2664A is one of the 10...
