I placed the order for a March build/April delivery black/black 991S with Manual ... the dealer asked if I want the hood emblem .. he thinks it is the regular porsche emblem that is on the hood but wasn't sure ... I would think this would come with the car unless he is not correct about the emblem option ... it is a no cost option ... has anyone heard of this.

Black/Black
20" Carrera S wheels
7 speed manual
PSE
Sport Chrono
premium package plus (with 14 way power seats)
sunroof
multi function Steering wheel
Heated Steering wheel (revised - added this and removed Logo on Storage compartment)

I don't think you either need to add or can delete the Porsche emblem on the trunk lid. Maybe he was talking about deleting the model designation on the rear.

I just sent an email to the dealer asking for clarification and pointed out that is the only no cost option I see on the website that sounds close to what he was talking about.

Though he said it is a Badge option though he was not sure.

He sounds clueless to me. The only 'delete' I've seen is paragraph on the rear end. Whiich I would do. But, you don't need a bagde on the bonnet either IMO.

A badge on the hood/bonnet is required on the 991.

The reason is that for the first time ever the shield is recessed into the metal. You would be left with an indention :/

You can kinda see it in the pic below - barely. I had a good pic of it and I can't find it. It's a quality effect.

How come nobody orders these?

Electric folding exterior mirrors $320
Steering wheel heating $270
ParkAssist (front and rear) $990

I really love heated steering wheel in the cold days.

Actually last night I emailed the dealer to add the heated steering wheel ... not that I am really into but figured I might as well since it's only $270. I have this feature on my 650i and rarely ever use it ... maybe because my garage is heated so the steering wheel is rarely cold.

Park assist I have on all of my cars except the 997 and I find I rarely pay attention to it unless I am backing into a parking spot ... back up camera's are a different story, those I use alot but there isn't one available yet on the 991

Electric folding mirrors .. . this is a feature I have had on a few cars and I NEVER used it ... in fact we have it on our GL and if it wasn't automatically programmed to close each time you lock the car I bet we'd never know it had it.

The reason to get the folding mirrors is you also get a downlight that illuminates the outside ground when you unlock the car.

I wish there was an option to just delete the "PORSCHE" script. If any car is instantly recognizable by it's shape over the last umpteen years, it's this one. If the option exists, then I'm blind whenever I look over the options on the website.

I think folding mirrors are a much bigger deal in Europe, where people have to deal with parking on very narrow streets. In the US it's more of a "Hey, watch this!" button.

I have the heated steering wheel on my BMW X5 and it's great, BUT the heated steering wheel is not available on the Sport Design wheel style which is IMO far better looking and a must with PDK due to the paddle style. (rather than button shift style). Heated option requires the older style wheel.

Park Assist? I don't like what it does to the rear bumper (dots) and it's a tiny car - I don't have parking issues. I actually read a post where someone thought the parking sensors on the rear bumper where the screw hole covers from the mounting hardware - that's not the case but the dots do look like that.

I did get the folding mirrors.
