The new 991 C4S!!
I am thinking about doing the same and trading in my California. I love my Ferrari, but am drawn to the idea of "down-sizing" while retaining major performance.
Nothing beats that Ferrari sound, but I truly believe that when it comes to the California vs a C4S with PTV/PDDC, the C4S outperforms the car. Please Lord, don't let the spirit of Enzo ruin me for saying that. I would go to a 458 Spider, however, I have two small children, who love to ride in the car(s) with me, and don't want to have to pick which one comes with me some place.

Here's a couple more shots, showing Bi-Xenon headlights in black (PDLS).
I'm really liking the way the black Bi-Xenon looks on the silver 991 not sure how it would be with black on black.
Wondering if anyone has some real life pics of it...
I think it'll look mean but it might also make the horizontal daytime lights to predominant (being the biggest and brightest thing on the front fascia now) thereby creating an "artificial" focal point and drawing the eye to a lower part on the car... good, bad?
Probably gonna skip it since it eliminates the ability to get premium seating package but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I am very lucky... that's for sure. These next few weeks are going to be a blast and a whirlwind. Paris should be the perfect end to our trip. We are first going to Cannes and southern France, then on the Riems in the Champagne region.
Here is what I wound up with as my final build:
P39 Premium Package Plus $4,650
P3A Burmester® Audio Package $5,010
Exterior Colors 0Q White $0
Interior Colors NE Espresso natural leather interior $5,200
Exterior 498 Deletion of Model Designation $0
636 ParkAssist (front and rear) $990
651 Electric sunroof $1,490
748 Electric folding exterior mirrors $320
XAT SportDesign package Exclusive $4,990
176 Sport Exhaust System $2,950
487 7-speed Manual Transmission $0
640 Sport Chrono Package $1,850
423 20-inch Carrera S wheel $0
XDH Wheels painted Platinum (semi-gloss) Exclusive $950
P06 Power Sport Seats (14-way) $0
XSH Seat belts in Silver Grey Exclusive $540
840 SportDesign steering wheel $250
998 Natural leather interior $0
I went with the 7MT. While I appreciate the PDK and it's blisteringly fast shifts, after driving both I prefer the connectedness of the manual.
I think it is going to be a great combination. I'm very excited. January can't get here soon enough!
I have a feeling I will have LOTS of photos to share when this car finally comes in.

I should get it in Feb/March... which will make it 12 months from putting my deposit to taking possession, man that's one looooooooong wait.

Looks like there's about four 6speed members so far who've placed an order (including us).
I'm sure that number will go up, that said I haven't seen many 991's around (comparatively speaking).
I ended up going with the PDK (SC & PSE) C4S cab.
Still love the MT but I'm loving the way ya can play the PDK car (and PSE) in manual & sport+ mode even more, never mind those throttle bleeps and lightning fast shifts or that snarling, popping and growling...
Either way (MT or PDK) it's one hell of a sexy machine, which handles as well as it looks.
Man it's going to be a long 5 months!
Well I put my order in today as well!

What color combo did you go with?
If you are expecting a February / March delivery, what initial build date did they quote you?
I'm sure they are getting a good number of orders on these. I was surprised when I read the other day that something like 1/3 of 997's sold were AWD versions of some flavor (I realize that this includes the turbo, since it is AWD). I was also surprised when my dealer told me that in their experience the C4 is far more rare than the C4S. They said that it sometimes takes them months to get a standard C4 allocation.
Sid - congrats! One of the best performing cars in the world, and all of the looks/luxuries that go with it.
One question - (please do not read into this incorrectly), why would you favor the C4S over the Turbo?
Is the additional power not needed?
Preference towards N/A over F/I and the C4S is plenty strong?
Or the turbo isn't out yet, you have to have the new model, and this is the best one that suits you?
Just curious. Your responses are usually thorough, and I hope to get a better understanding.

Congrats!!! It sounds like it is going to be a great one. PDK really is impressive and fun. If my fiancee's car didn't already have a very similar system (BMW w/ DCT) I would have been more likely to go that way with the C4S.

It's a December build but those damn Germans like to party so ya can write of any real production for 3 weeks around Xmas and new years!

So effectively this means Feb/March will more likely be March/April...
Anyway I don't use the 991 in winter so that delivery date is fine for me, just not any later or little Psycho's going start freaking out!

My build is pretty basic.
Black on black.
2013 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet $134,100
Premium Package with Power Sport seats $3,360
Convertible Top Black $0
Basalt Black Metallic $820
Black standard interior $0
Deletion of Model Designation $0
Sport Exhaust System $3,370
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) $4,660
Sport Chrono Package $2,710
20-inch Carrera Classic wheel $1,340
Seat ventilation (front) $960
Smoking package $0
Power Sport Seats (14-way) $0
Seat belts in Guards Red Exclusive $620
SportDesign steering wheel $560
Porsche Crest on headrests Exclusive $330
I'm having a bit of a hard time with the price tag which (tax in) comes to a $178K (for a non turbo 911)

But what the hell you really do get 2 cars rolled into one, so I guess I'm getting a deal!

Since I got my first F360 cab I've been hooked.
You're senses are just more connected to everything around you, from the "cleansing" effect of the air rushing "through" your head to the exhilaration of "experiencing" the exhaust as you actually feel every input translated by the car... hell even a small ride feels like taking a holiday.
See with a turbo I'd really miss that orchestral exhaust note, plus that turbo whine (in a cab!) really messes with my "ki"
.I also prefer the NA power delivery...of course with the new triple turbo 991 I may change my mind on that!

I got the NA C4S because I love the feeling like you're on rails, the wide body, the exclusivity and the added character which the "reflector/light strip" provides.
It's elegant yet mean, sexy yet imposing and with this new 991 C4S... even the curves have curves!
What's not to love...
Anyone whom says that it's too "heavy" should probably never have anything in their car over 40 pounds... never mind a passenger!
But at 6'4" 260 pounds I'm well beyond caring about the weight of the awd system, hell load the car with strippers see if people still talk about hp vs weight ratios.

At 400HP there's more than plenty to move all 4 wheels... rapidly.
Many people don't realize that the awd system only has 5% going to the front... yes 5% until more is needed then it'll go up to 40%.
After having test driven the Maserati Granturimo S, SLS, Aston, R8, F430, etc, etc... in the end the conclusion was, Porsche... there is no substitute!
All this said, I can't wait to get my 991 C4S... and to start customizing.
First thing is a techart lip and rear wing!
I may have also fallen in love with those damn pricey 21" wheels... I know, I know, 21" wheels!!!

Somebody stop me before I hurt myself!
Hi Sid!
Best looking 991 C4S is the original one .... save the money for not pimping the car and get some driver training lessons on extreme conditions instead
By the way : where are the black C4S pictures from? Do you have more of them .... I´m looking for black and GT-silver 991 C4S pics
Best

Customizing is a sickness... I just can't help myself, thanks for trying though.

Re pics, they are from here https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...rt-fellas.html
It's from the C2S but the front is the same so the lip would fit.
Most the black C4S shots I've posted are actually photo shopped.
Cheers!

I've gotten a black 2011 Benz E coupe to play around with and a 2012 white E 4matic as a DD (it was time to replace the old one).

PS See you at Escape to the Ozarks next fall
