The new 991 C4S!!
However the GTS did, but don't forget the GTS was the very last variant of the 997 generation to be released so it'll be a "while" yet.
I see your point..., but what if the mandatory trim level did not cost anymore to include them?
What I'm suggesting is that there are cars that have a lot of these options and still cost around $25k. How does Porsche charge more than $25k for these options?
For example - why is bluetooth even an option anymore?
Dimming mirrors, etc... These should be considered required safety features, not optional items.
You want to reduce fuel costs on a global scale? Put a GPS navi system in every car. If you aren't lost, or can find a shorter way, you reduce fuel consumption. Why is there an additional cost for this? My GPS in my phone is free. You can pick one up for less than $50, usually a better quality than in most cars anyway...
Stereo? Who here thinks that a 500W system is an add-on when a 300W comes standard? Wouldn't it be cheaper for the company just to source and stock one single item? Besides, let's say a 300W system costs $1000 to install, and a 500W system costs $1200 to install - how does a company charge $2k for it, when it was only a $200 upgrade? Wouldn't that $200 increase go away if only one system was in stock, therefor we would purchase greater numbers of that one, cost would go down, the better stereo would be installed at a zero cost option...
Obviously I'm oversimplifying, but I do NOT like marketing such as being able to purchase a PC at Best Buy for $450 that contains a 2GB HDD and 128MB RAM, etc..., only to be offered a 200GB option for $100, and a 500GB for $200, upgrading the RAM to 256 for an additional $40, or 1GB RAM for an addition $200, essentially costing $800+ for a USEABLE computer. Marketing makes it sound like the PC was a good deal, when in fact NOBODY likes the base level. Some can argue and say - I like to personalize the way I want. Cool. But these upgrades do NOT cost what they are asking. If you like it, buy it. I like that a company DOES offer variety. I've just learned to despise the marketing standpoint of - I'm going to offer you a stripped model, advertise at MSRP, make you over pay for every option, under the guise of "customization".
Porsche is not the only offender, I've learned to take a disliking to Lexus' marketing, as well as others.
For others - resale is a *****. You go through all that trouble, and hope that the next individual likes exactly what you want? No thanks.

OK so I'm wondering if between all us 6speed members if there's anyone who's going to the Paris Auto Show...
Can't wait till the release and more pics + video's!
BTW I've had a 991 C2S cab for the last 2 days and I can't believe it but I'm actually changing my build to include the PDK (with SC and PSE) instead of MT!
Damn that 2 day "loaner" just cost me $10K!
I've been told the C4S I'm ordering will be a Launch vehicle so I'll be able to take delivery sooner!

I will have my camera with me and will take as many photos as possible.
I'm actually going to be in Paris that week on my honeymoon. I wasn't going to suggest going to the show, but on Thursday my fiancee surprised me by buying tickets for us to go... further confirming that I have made an excellent choice. She remembered me saying that the C4S was going to premiere at the show.

congrats!!!Look Forward to the pics from the show!!
Thanks guys. I agree
Just got back from the dealer. Put in my C4S order. It is scheduled for a 12/5/12 completion, so I would guess I should see it in January.
I can't wait... I'm really happy with how it is spec'd out.

Brian you're marring the right girl!!!
CONGRATS on finding a keeper and placing your order for the 991 C4S.
I don't think it could get any better than this, you take her to the "romance capital of the world" the City of lights, Paris and she takes you to the very first place where the world (and you) gets to see you're brand new 991 widebody.
I used to go to Paris quiet often and proposed to my wife there so we both think of Paris very fondly but your scenario is perfect and will make for an amazing start to a new chapter in your life... and what a ride to do it in!
It will also remind your girl of her Honeymoon every time she gets in the Porsche, yup that's a win win if I ever heard it!
Speaking of Porsches... post up your build!
I'm real confused about the MT VS PDK... I'm now going with the latter but I'm a MT at heart so I keep second guessing myself...
What are you getting PDK or MT?

I went with the 7MT. While I appreciate the PDK and it's blisteringly fast shifts, after driving both I prefer the connectedness of the manual.
I think it is going to be a great combination. I'm very excited. January can't get here soon enough!
I have a feeling I will have LOTS of photos to share when this car finally comes in.
I am very lucky... that's for sure. These next few weeks are going to be a blast and a whirlwind. Paris should be the perfect end to our trip. We are first going to Cannes and southern France, then on the Riems in the Champagne region.

Do you think platinum wheels go well with espresso interior?
White - looks very nice with espresso, a little common
Silver / Grey - very common, I've had two grey cars in a row and want a change
Aqua Blue - This was my other real consideration, but when I saw it at the dealer today one last time I decided it would make the dark espresso interior really look black. Also, today was a very sunny day and aqua blue was very bright.
Dark Blue / Black - Too dark of a combo with espresso. I wanted more contrast.
Red / Yellow - Too loud for me
The Browns - brown-on-brown is too much brown.
That left me at white.
As for the platinum wheels, I was undecided about that for a while. I think the standard silver wheels look too light for my tastes with the white exterior. I like more contrast between wheels and body (but not black). The platinum wheels look fantastic on a white 991. I figure that typically the interior and the wheels on a coupe aren't seen together. Also, if I really am unhappy with them in the end (unlikely) I can always have them refinished to some other color like silver or a dark bronze.
I am very lucky... that's for sure. These next few weeks are going to be a blast and a whirlwind. Paris should be the perfect end to our trip. We are first going to Cannes and southern France, then on the Riems in the Champagne region.

If you haven't booked a car yet I would highly recommend renting a Benz E class Cabrio from a company called SIXTH (no affiliation).
Honestly the best service and a great choice of higher-end(ish) vehicles at reasonable $.
I can't stand ending up with some (little) rental car, it's like having to wear someone else's clothes which don't fit, feel or smell right!

Ya cant really go wrong if it's build to your personal tastes.
As has been stated, it can get pricey quickly but the flip side is that you get exactly what YOU want, that is if one can be decisive (which I'm having a hard time with

Mine will be a C4S.
Thanks for the car rental recommendation too. I will investigate! September is going to be a fun month.
I drove the C2S in both PDK and 7MT and I really liked the 7MT. I've never driven a porsche manual transmission for an extended period before and now I know why there are so many porsche manual transmission fans. It's great feeling.
