The new 991 C4S!!
how did I miss this post?!!!!So are we looking at deliveries in the fall?
When can we order?
When will all this show up on the configurator?
Will I be able to resist the GT3? Or the Turbo? Or the 4S?
Should I dip into the slush fund?
Should I tell the wife that another few months of coping with me in a state of semi-madness should be expected next year?
Questions, questions!
Stop posting stuff like this Sid!!!
Hi Sid!
I think the influence of PDCC to the comfort of the 991 is only on potholes when the car staggers from one side to the other ... but hey .... when do you go with your 991 on such streets?
The more important influence on the feel for comfort are the highway seams and smaller hits to the dampers .... this is what everybody describes as a harsh ride ... when you feel this small hits every time ..... and I believe here the PDCC has no effects to avoid this.
Best

It's pathetic... and not just in Montreal. Toronto etc. but also LA, New York etc.... it's gotten real bad and it will only get worse.
Europe is not far behind I dare say (expect for Germany) all other EU countries which don't already have cobble-stone infrastructure (Amsterdam) to deal with will soon be dealing with the same type of disrepair we have in large parts of North America.
As to the videos... good stuff, thanks for posting!!!
Yeah in real life I'm a bit more of a "lose canon" lol but on here I'm kinda careful because with the written word "the tone" is often open to interpretation so my sense of humor sometimes gets lost in translation... nothing a few night in Amsterdam can't fix though.

Enjoy your post to, you're usually on the money hehehe.
BTW I put the info on $ you asked about below.

In retrospect I think the GM wasn't allowed to tell me about the new widebody variants... and I in turn was suppose to have kept it under my hat... oohpssss to late.

Damn I hate to be "that guy" but how could I keep something like that from you guys?!

I did ask about the price etc but he was... lets say less "enthusiastic" with info then yesterday.
So I had to get creative with... "if I end up buying this C4S and find out I could have gotten a Turbo for 20 grand more... I'm gonna be seriously pissed!!
Where upon he pulled out some papers (very old school
...) did some searching on his computer and said that the same build I have now on the C4S Cab (165K) would be about 215K with the turbo... crazy I know but I kinda expected as much. Now both of those numbers are before taxes... so you can add another 16%.
Also, that is in Canada.. we pay about 15 to 20% more than you guys in the in the US, but it does give a good idea of the delta between the C4S and Turbo.
Cheers!
Thanks for sharing.
!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!
Hold onto your hats fellas...
In May Porsche will be releasing not 1... not 2... but 3 new 991's!!!
Yes they're dropping the veil on the 991 Turbo, Turbo S and... the GT3 ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

That is the word from the GM at my dealer whom just returned from Germany where the news was presented to PAG's dealer network... he also said the cabs for the Turbo/S will follow 3 months later.
I can't believe it after a very slowwwww trickling of new generation variants the boys at Porsche have decided to open the floodgates... maybe they've been paying attention to the cries of agony rising from the pages of 6speed.
Or decided they were losing customers because people are tired of waiting... foreplay can last only so long!
Whatever the reason Porsche has made sure next year is going to be exciting!
Cheers!

I'm stuck in a car that I absolutely adore, so it's not like I'm hurting.
The thing I like about the C4S (for those who like N/A, as opposed to F/I), is that it is the top of the line. I don't share that opinion, and MUST wait until Turbo comes out (maybe even the S, depending on cost).
(I don't fully understand the Turbo 'S' - why don't they just release the one version, and make them all awesome?)
But, because I'm a turbo fanatic, and there is no longer that turbo lag phenomenon, this makes me jump over the N/A versions (non-GTS) and right to the top.
They can't do that, or the page under "All 911 Models" on porsche.com will not have enough little pictures of 991 for us to pick from. I think there were 20 version with 997. I am thinking there will be 40 to chose from after they roll out all the 991. 20 plus another 20 special 50th anniversary edition of each.
This is exactly why I haven't jumped on any car right now.

Jasper I'm not sure what the hell you're trying to do...
I was enjoying the equilibrium we had... and even some of your posts so maybe I'm misreading this but I've got to tell ya your whole post has an air of superiority to it...
Who are you trying to convince here?
You're on a C4S thread and are belittling those that are dropping between a 140K to a 185K because it's not a Turbo... really?????
You posted previously...
So the wife and I started shopping again for our next major car purchase (minor ones don't get as much attention).
So we 'built' a car with everything that she currently has in her minivan (and or another car as standard). And it ended up adding over $30k in options. It was retarded crap (to me). I priced us right out of a Porsche.
"911 - It's a little more, but more comes standard... $120k+???"
Done. We just went around the block, just to come right back to where we started...
I don't know how you guys do it. It drives me insane. It MUST be part of the thrill, itself, to build one to your specs... I just wish it didn't cost the price of another Lexus IS to do it.

Those Turbo 991's will go for north of 185K... add some options and you're at 210K... now add your taxes and your at 240/250K... and you would even consider a Turbo S (280K+)...listen why don't you let us know when that happens OK big dog.
Until then, you can keep driving your superior Nissan GTR (I know, I know... your car is "faster" than all 991's out right now) and I will go around suffering in my lowly 991 C4S...
Do us both a favour and keep these types of posts of this thread, OK.

What are you on about matey? Like it one moment and dislike it another?

Your post conveys a sense of self-convincing righteousness. The words "stuck" and "adore" used together in your sentence really do nothing about portraying your over exuberant contentment with your car.
Ah well... enjoy your GTR... if you do!

Alright, moving on... here's a video of a few C4/S in a dealers showroom (including a white one with a sport package)... nothing too exciting in it's presentation but it does have a nice sound clip at the end, love that gratuitous noise.
I wish I could just walk into a dealer here and see them in the flesh, sigh soon... though soon
Yep it's looking mighty fine in white, this video made me think of your car.
When are you expecting your baby to arrive!?

Thanks! It should be very very soon. I got confirmation that it went on a vessel on 11/13. I see that the "Olympian Highway" left Emden on that day and is getting into Davisville, RI tomorrow. It's currently offshore of Rhode Island as of tonight. I'm pretty sure that's the boat the car should be on.
With a little luck I'm hoping to see it late next week. With less luck I'm hoping the week after.
Since I'm picking up right at the beginning of winter I think I'm going to have the dealer mount up winter tires for me prior to pick up too.
