I'm excited like a little kid...unbelievable!!
Came across this comparison from Porsche online...I thought 997 wide body's width is less than 991 wide body but it shows its the same...?? Any ideas if 997.2 turbo width is with or without the side mirrors??
That said, the reason why it looks wider is because of the higher rear end, larger wheel arches, lowered roof and the "pinched" the waistline which accentuates the coke bottle shape.
As to feeling like a little kid... dude I can totally tell!
I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!
marinetraffic.com was my one pathway to sanity during the last stages of this wait. Now that it is onshore I have no idea where it is and how long it will be before it reaches my dealer. Winter tires got there yesterday and are waiting for it's arrival.
I'm hoping that with the LA show starting yesterday the car should have been able to leave the port.
Keep up with the photos and videos, guys! Great stuff. Saint.666 - that's a nice commercial.
Sid - That's definitely helping to make it look wider. The car is much lower and has lots of horizontal lines giving the illusion of even more width.

Yes they're dropping the veil on the 991 Turbo, Turbo S and... the GT3 ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

That is the word from the GM at my dealer whom just returned from Germany where the news was presented to PAG's dealer network... he also said the cabs for the Turbo/S will follow 3 months later.
I can't believe it after a very slowwwww trickling of new generation variants the boys at Porsche have decided to open the floodgates... maybe they've been paying attention to the cries of agony rising from the pages of 6speed.
Or decided they were losing customers because people are tired of waiting... foreplay can last only so long!
Whatever the reason Porsche has made sure next year is going to be exciting!
Cheers!
According to AutoZeitung the GT3 is coming 7/2013, the 991TT and 991TTS 9-10/2013 while cabrios 11-12/2013. These are car show presentation dates for the turbos.

Wow big year for Porsche. Well I am sure they are going to release something in March at Geneva for the 50th anniversary.. so that might be a few things. Maybe the Targa and the updated Panamera?
I think the new 4S is stunning, both from a visual perspective, as well as a technology perspective. Since I live in SoCal, though, for a car that's mostly going to be a DD, would it really make sense to spend the extra $ vs "just" getting the 2S?
(Can't wait to go to the LA Auto Show this weekend!)

I would say the actuality of launch dates is probably somewhere between my dealer info and your Journo info.
Exciting stuff to be sure!
Funny enough you don't hear much about the Targa anymore...
You'd think they are going to realease that before the Turbo... but I'm not sure what auto shows are going on in late winter.
I used to really like this reporter/host but I think he's not an independent anymore because he's sporting clothing with the P logo and his demeanor has changed... almost artificial and his phrasing is very calculated.
Still a good video though, thanks for posting!

First "next generation" flagship (triple) Turbo.
First real Targa since the air-cooled gen.
The platform on which Porsche racing is build on, the GT3.
Am I missing any?

All though "exclusivity" is relative because according to different courses 50% of all 911 sold are awd... I'm just a sucker for that wide booty.

C2/SS, C4/S, cab, coupe or targa.... there really isn't a bad choice among them!
