That's an awesome build! I was really on the edge between the glass and the hardtop sunroof. Be it that I'm in the VERY south of Texas...hard top seemed a no brainer...the dealers were telling me it can get hot between the inches above your head and the glass down here....I'm bald...wouldn't want that...HAHAHA.

Maybe a question little too soon for me... But what is your guys thoughts on clear bra, what parts to cover, and whether you would let the dealer do it or third party?

Same goes for the tire protection?

Sorry I like to ask everyone's thoughts and opinions...heck we are all on the same boat right? Just departing at various times...mine unfortunately much later than most of you

But the dealer says build for march and delivery for April! 2 weeks on the completion date....but what the heck...I've been strumming on my heart strings for a long time now for this car!!
Yep I think most will concur that getting a 991 makes ya feel like a kid at Christmas!

Clear bra, I have it on all my rides and it really works!
I usually get; front bumper, full fenders, full hood... on the sports cars I usually add full side skirts (if painted) and in front/behind the rear wheel wells.

I have it done at the installers directly because they are the same one that all the high end dealers around here use anyway so I save the dealer mark-up hehehe I know... just spend 180K on a new car and I'm happy to save a few hundred bucks!

Tire (and/or wheel) protection I've always looked at as a scam but there are many whom love these types of programs and swear by them... so it's highly subjective.

Wow...the gap looks ugly...hopefully they've done something to this car different than how it's supposed to be...

No kidding that gap looks huge, especially at the front...damn!
I really hope it's something to do with the suspension still having to settle because that's just butt ugly.

Congrats!
Nice to see more and more wide-body orders.

Listen just a heads-up, I would really add Sport Chrono... on the previous generations it was an option one could live without but on the 991 it is so integrated into all the cars systems and makes such a big difference I would not get a PDK without!

Just do a search and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Cheers!

You guys think its because those are regular rims? I am getting the 20in Sport..because doesn't PASM just lower the ride by millimeters? Not much visually. Was talking to the dealer, and they had cars with and without, no visual difference outside the extended front lip. He says the website does a terrible job over exaggerating the "drop". My 2-cents is all

Oh- by the way...just added PASM...still doing without PDCC, just wont track the car as much as some of you probably will!

WOHOO!

I'm confused, did you order a C4 or a C4S?
Because:

The base Carrera 4... comes with 19" wheels and does not come standard with PASM.
Carrera 4S... comes standard with 20" wheels and PASM (10mm lower).
Carrera 4S with the optional S-PASM... comes with S-PASM lip, a more aggressive angle on the rear wing and drops the car another 10mm (total of 20mm vs the base Carrera 4).
The PDCC is only an option on the C2S and the C4S, it is not offered on base cars.

"Everyone" can absolutely tell the 20mm drop... the 10mm drop is evident as well for anyone whom owns a 991, (most) others can tell there's a difference (with the 10mm drop) but are not quiet sure what it is.
If you've got a gap between the tire and fender of 10cm (100mm) than a 10mm drop is not that noticeable... if the gap is 5cm (50mm) than a 10mm drop IS noticeable, make that 20mm and it's VERY noticeable.

A sales person whom says a drop of 10 or 20mm (and thus it's center of gravity) on a sports car! doesn't make a difference or that it's not worth it... should be working for a Dodge dealer!
My 2cents.

Decide for yourself based on $ and the balance of comfort vs performance... everything else is hot air.

I agree with Sid (no shock there). 20mm is 4/5 inches and people are paying big money to ave cars dropped that far, both for looks and for stability.

Hey Sid...I'm getting a C4s...

hmm...are the sport design wheels standard? If so...what the heck?

And is the S-PASM the same as PASM sport suspension listed under options on the website? It's like $890 or something right?

I've dotted my "t"s and crossed my "I"s...forgive me- I'm a newbie to the supercar world let alone porsche acronyms. I'm learning though...slow pace maybe? HAHAHA

I'll be taking my 2cents back...HAHAHA

This is why I joined up- gotta learn the important stuff from you guys!

Hahaha no worries!
All those options can be a bit confusing but you've come to the right place for info, 6speed is a great resource.
To answer your question, yes S-PASM or PASM-S is an abbreviation for the rather long "PASM sport suspension".

Go through all the explanations and info here http://www.porsche.com/usa/

I'm assuming you already build your option list through the configurater at that site but some of the questions you're asking seem to suggest you may not have, if so you really need to check the configurater out (many, many, many times ).
There you'll also see that the sport design wheels are an option but that ALL the wheels are 20" even the once which come standard.

Enjoy!

Every time you guys post pics of your cars...there's a BIG smile on my face those black rims look amazing.

Have you had trouble over speed bumps or speed humps? Been kind of worried about that, so many in my neighborhood to count...not to mention a dip before the driveway....I think I'll cry on the first scrape....::sigh::

No trouble on speed bumps and humps. The lip is high enough and suspension stiff enough to rarely result in a scrape. Even if it does scrape its a piece of plastic and easily and cheaply replaced. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for posting!
Here's one that shows the lights nicely, although it is a terrible quality... but I do LOVE the way that light-strip looks!
