Will there finally be a Turbo Targa with the 991?

I've had people tell me that the targa is not rigid enough for a turbo, but others say it is more rigid than the cabriolet.

I have others say that the targa roof would pop out and shatter from all the extra horsepower of the Turbo, shredding the girly boys who drive them into a million tiny ribbons of red glistening flesh; although I haven't heard of a targa roof popping out in the 997's (or the 996's).

Is it because targa sales are relatively low compared to hardtops and cabs, that a targa turbo hasn't been put into production?

Could it be between all the sausage and beer (and corresponding waste gas body functions), they never thought about it?

Will there finally be a Turbo Targa with the 991?

I sure would like to see that happen.

I have a 2009 Targa 4S and installing a turbo would be no problem... The only issue with the Targa is the squeek from the roof when it is cold...

Given their recent trend towards providing every combo possible -- it wouldn't surprise me to see a turbo targa if they believe they can sell enough. In general, I'm not sure how good the targa sales have been since they went to the glass version (993, 996, 997). For me, it doesn't feel open enough unless you get rid of the frame above the door windows.

Been doing quiet a bit of research to get info on the 991 C4S cab and with everything I've come across there is definitely going to be a Targa but a natural inspired one... so no Turbo's.

Could still change, but I doubt it.

If they bring back a true Targa as rumored, I hope if looks like that. Modern and updated, yet awesomely old school all in one.

That's what I'm talking about! None of this sliding glass over-sized sunroof stuff.

So curious to know how that is going to work, I kind of like the glass top and is my favourite part of the Targa - however I rarely open it.

Yeah it's suppose to be in 2 choices, solid or glass panels which can be stored.
