I realize they're different cars, but when spending $100k+ on a car, you do have to consider your other options. I guess I could always just buy a new Boxster S for $70k and a new CLS550 for $75k and I would have two cars that are 90% as good as their big brothers for just $20k more than the 991S with the options I'd want. Damn you opportunity cost, damn you to hell.
You should also factor in the fuel cost to your decision. It will add up over a few years. The cls 63 will have a thirsty v8 while the 991S 3.8 "flat 6" is relatively frugal, yet can easily keep up with the cls 63 performance wise.

The CLS 63 is a big fat heavy sedan, (practically a limousine) which is more comfortable when in the back seat.

The 991 is a wide, low, svelte road slicing razor. Case closed.

Yeah i really don't think that these are comparable at all...
I had a problem with the price tag of the 991 as well since it puts it in the category of some other very fine cars, granted some may be 2011's but still.

Like the Aston Martin, Benz SLS and Masarati Granturismo.
In the end I decided to stick with Porsche... there is no substitute

a porsche will be more fun. since you don't need real back seats, why bother with a bigger car?

if you need a sedan, CLS is a great choice. 6 series sucks in rear seat room.
