Opinions please

I maybe getting ready to say goodbye to my 997.1tt (trade on a 991cs). In the spirit of good Sunday forum reading fun I decided to see what others would do/choose in my situation.

The cars/options available to me now are the following....

1)Agate Grey/ Black standard interior - PDK, Prem Pkg plus, 14 way seats, 20" Sports design wheel, Sports exhaust, PDCC, Power steering plus, folding mirrors,Bose, Sports chrono, Sunroof

2)Basalt Black/Black standard interior - PDK, Prem Pkg plus, 14 way seats, 20" Carrera Classics, Sports exhaust, Multifunction wheel, Sport exhaust, Power steering plus, Burmester audio, Sports chrono, Sunroof

3)GT Silver/ Black leather interior - same options as above plus folding mirrors and the audio is BOSE

4)Platinum Silver/ Black standard- PDK, Prem Pkg plus Adaptive sports seats, 20" Sports Design, Sports exhaust, PDCC, Power steering plus, folding mirrors, BOSE, Sports chrono, Sunroof

So many ways to go I am just not sure. Everything is subjective, but what would you pick?

Tough choice! It would be 1 or 4 for me - I would want PDCC. Also, while GT silver is beautiful, I understand it is a royal pain to match if you ever get a scratch. I would rather have the full leather than the adaptive seats so I guess No.1 at the end of the day.

You should have your dealer search the U.S. for all 991's either on dealer lots or on vessel with the options you want and ship it. Why settle for just picking from these four cars?

IMO, you should see if the dealer with let you take a demo out overnight and or for the weekend. May help with your decision.

My local dealer has none of these. This list is comprised of what they can find and would dealer trade for me. It seems the full leather option is tough to locate right now (in conjunction with the other options I wanted). Most they found through the dealer network are either in production or on a boat and may or may not be sold. At least that was what I was told. There may be a a few on the west coast if I'm willing to pay the shipping charge, I'll know more by Tuesday. I need to take delivery soon (too boring to discuss why) so ordering is out of the question.

With PDK, make sure to get the sport design steering wheel. The mf wheel sucks for manual shifting.

Agree! Makes the car much more enjoyable if you use the paddles IMO. Given that I would say option 1!

I have the multi-function wheel with PDK. Does that not have paddles? I hope I did not make a mistake.

No, the MF wheel has the buttons. Some people like them, but IMHO they are counter intuitive. I keep trying to downshiift, when I want to up shift. If you end up not liking it, you can swap the wheel with the Sport Design wheel for about $1,000-1,500. It looks pretty easy to do. Also, I believe Champion as a retrofit kit that works (at least they did for the 997).

This is for the 997, but I believe it should work. They also make them in aftermarket Alcantara!

This is a fancy version of the MF wheel, but you can see the buttons instead of the paddles.

You know that sound that Charlie Brown makes when he is running up to kick the ball and Lucy pulls it away? That is me now. Good grief! Why don't they tell you things like that when you order?

I wanted the functionality - I hated that my 997 did not have voice control - that big screen is great, but you have to look away from the road. Oh well.

I guess I am learning buttons. At least I can still do it from the stick. Thanks for letting me know and sorry to have hijacked the thread. We now return you to Options already in progress.

And I am still the only one on this thread to have expressed an opinion!

HED, do these cars have the sport design wheel? I cannot tell if you are talking about the steering wheel or the wheels.
