991 Cabs

Has anyone had a 991 Cab delivered yet? Mine was pushed out to an April 18 build date from March.

crap! Why?? Did you add anything? I have a planned completion date of April 4th and I am growing more worried by the day that it's going to get delayed as well.

What options do you have ordered? Anything causing your delay?

I made a lot of changes to be fair. I believe the deviated stitching caused the real delay but PNA won't confirm it.

I heard deviated stitching has caused delays as well. Hopefully we get our cars soon, the wait is killing me.

I have had a cab that I ordered in January sitting at the port in Rhode Island for two weeks as of today! I was told that PCNA is holding all cab deliveries up by my dealer until sometime after April 2 but no one can tell me why or exactly when they will be released. I called PCNA today but have no heard back from them, the lady I spoke with took my VIN and could see it at the port but was not sure why it was being held; she promised to look into for me. Needless to say, I am not too happy at the moment.

Newman, sorry you still do not have yours. I do not either (a coupe in R.I.) and gerenb just was told he is getting his coupe from R.I tomorrow, in Va.

How long has it been in RI, I know it arrived on the boat after mine. Coupes that came in on the same boat as mine left within about a week, at least that is what I have been told and I believe its the cab that is the problem. You still have time to make it this week. Good luck.

Hi Newman - hope your trip is going well. I just heard from the dealer this afternoon - without it ever showing up as being in transit, my car pulled into the dealer's lot today at 2:30. The boat docked at about 8 pm on the 20th, but the car did not show on the computer as being in port until the morning of the 22d. So, technically, it made it in a week. I have been very lucky - my lock date was 2/14, my build was started on 3/3 or 3/4, was out of QC on the 8th and managed to make the ship in time because it sailed overnight on 3/8 - 3/9. 10-13 days at see, depending on how you count it (from the 8-22 or from the 9-20) and at the dealer about a week after - I caught a break on making to the ship and not having to wait.

I hope you are going to have yours released no later than Monday and that your dealer get's it too you quickly.

That is great news - always nice to be surprised. I assume you will pick it up tomorrow or Friday, Saturday at the latest? Hopefully mine will be released early next week and I will just be one week behind. What did you build - is it in one of your earlier posts? Drive safe and keep in touch.

Hello Newman. I will get it on Friday and a buddy and I will take it down to Atlantic City to celebrate and put a dent in the break in. I did post the build in an earlier thread (My 991S Build) last post on March 8. Let me know if you have problems finding it. I will post pictures over the weekend or early next week.

My salesman has another customer in exactly the same situation as you. He says Porsche is not acknowledging that they are holding them, but, they are. The scuttlebutt is April 2 and they should be released quickly. You should get your cab next week - at least you will be home to enjoy it. Someplace I have an article on taking care of the cloth roof. If I can find it, I will scan it.

Let me know what you think when you see it and I can't wait to kick myself for not ordering a cab when I see yours!

Thabks Michael - I hope you are right about April 2, wonder why the hold but it's good to know that I am not alone. PCNA has not yet gotten back to me yet, maybe they are just not talking.

I love you color combination (I found your build) and I have always been partial to Silver, and if I had the guts I would have gone for your interior. My 997.1 TT had full leather, you will love it. Good performance options as well, pretty much the same as mine.

Enjoy the weekend, it will be memorable.

Thanks. I hope the black inserts were not a mistake - I love the classic red and silver. But, hey, at least it will be unique. That and not replacing my 997.2 cab with a 991 cab will be debated in my head endlessly. Enjoy your last weekend without a 991!
