Congrats and enjoy! Drive safely! I am glad you said what you did about the steering - I totally agree. Those who think that electric steering and PDCC (in my S) put a layer of gauze between driver and car can kiss my grits!

And the Jeckel/hyde nature of it is one of its best parts - mild mannered GT and, at the flick of a button, in your face. I can't wait to try sports+

Quote: My car does not have PASM or PSE. It is a standard exhaust and it sounds amazing with the sport button on. The sport button is also standard. It adds more torque as well. In my opinion PSE is entirely unnecessary and a waste of money given how good the standard exhaust is.
thats really great news, i was getting nervous about non sport exhaust base 3.4 because of the exhaust setup on the 3.8L (both setups have side muffler bypasses stock)

Great review!

I must agree with you, the standard exhaust is really good! I have really enjoyed the car, even during break-in driving. I would not trade the MT for any other transmission, it gives me hope of a better future .

Here you go. The sales guy said the sport button does add extra torque , I think it was 18ft pounds.

the sport button is standard on all 991s. you no longer need to buy sport chrono unless you want sport plus which is only relevant for PDK. My car is very lightly options. I have 20 inch wheels, sport plus seats, sport design wheel, XM radio and that's it.

Tromero, I enjoyed your review on your new Porsche. Thanks for posting! Your review seems to be the first review on the base 911 Carrera. Your non-S must be one of the earliest arrivals to the USA. Maybe they will start getting a little more plentiful now.

Your sales guy is wrong on the added torque.

I agree. The sports button will change the throttle mapping but it will not increase peak torque.

Sales guy is mis-informed, the Sport button just changes the throttle response, it does not add power or torque.

Also, you get more than the clock on the dash with the sport chrono package. You get Dynamic Engine Mounts. It does give you more with PDK but the engine mounts alone are worth it in a manual transmission car.

... and the ride with 20'' wheels is fine and comfortable without PASM?
