Here are a few more pics to tide you over. It has been raining here so I haven't driven more since I didn't want to get it dirty just yet. I have instead been fiddling with the radio and nav. My 997 car cover, though not a perfect fit, seems to fit ok. I will take a drive this morning and report back anything new.

They do have a great butt! If you figure out the electronics, let me know - I am still trying!

You will join us soon enough! Crossed 500 miles today and hit the sport button as soon as I did, put the hammer down, and...oh my! I need to live in Germany! It was like falling in love a second time in just over a week. I expect to be spending a lot of time in sport mode.

Sid, the C4S will be here before you know and you will be glad you waited!

FYI the flirtation I had with the Maserati GT-S turned out to be a "one night stand" .
Took it for the afternoon and is very disappointing compared to the Porsche!
So I'm waiting excitedly for my 991.
I'm happy I tried the Maser though at least I won't be second guessing myself.

Re sport button, now that you can I'm 100% sure you'll drive in that mode most of the time... they should call it "invigoration mode"... or the "awesome button.

Cheers!

Glad you drove it. It is very nice looking. Not sure it is reliable enough yet. No regrets now, as you said. If all goes well, when is your build? Will you/can you swap back to C2S if the rear end stays the same?

I thought Maserati would've been the choice because of its awesome engine note and its exotic looks. was it that bad when you test drove it?

I have a deposit down which gives me the first 991 C4S allocation at my dealer... no word on when it will be unveiled, never mind actually build .

My dealer did tell me that it WILL BE A WIDE BODY .
The fact that the 4/S + Targa variants have been removed from the configurater means we're getting close!
But then again I was hoping for an unveil at the NY auto show... never happened.

I think it will be a late fall/early winter build with Feb/March delivery.
At this point I've planned on a European delivery in late April and will roam around the Cote d'Azure for 3 weeks with my brand new baby!!!

MONTE CARLO HERE I COME .
(will cost me a sh@tload of $$ but ya live once baby!)

Cheers!

Interested as well your thoughts of the Maserati GT and the 991S.

OK first apologies to the OP for the thread hijack!
Although I have a feeling he's out riding his new 991 and probably forgot about any of us hehehe

Drove the 991 (for the 4th time ) but this time back to back with the Maser GT-S.

+ points for the GT-S are...

-Amazing sound in sports mode!!!!
-Visually striking.
-Amazing quality interior (leather is unreal!).
-Real back seats!
-Lots of thumbs up and open mouths hehehe.
-Oh and did I mention that AMAZING SOUND!

- points...

-It's really big (and it feels really big!)... the 20" rims look tiny VS the 991.
-Huge gap between the tire and wheel well.
-Interior space is smaller than the 991 (driver).
-They put a "waffle iron" as a break paddle, I mean it's HUGE and sits low so ya can't stretch your leg out.
-Seating is terrible, you sit "on top" rather than "in" the seat (even my 2010 E class Benz feels sportier!), it's just odd.
-I cannot see myself going for random "milk runs" with this nor 4 hour+ rides...
-The wife said that it felt under powered (usually she'll give me "that look" in the 911 hehe) and she's right though, that 4.7 engine is a cow compared to the 3.8 991.
-Transmission (paddle shift) doesn't come close to the 991.

Overall the Maser looks great, sounds even better but I was happy to get out of it after a few hours and stretch my legs... with the 991 I just wanted to keep going... and going and goi... ya get my drift

Overall it was disappointing... and I knew this was a GT car so I had the right mindset to start with but it goes beyond the lack of oompf... way beyond!

991 is MUCH more comfortable for long rides (and I'm 6'4"+) but when ya hit that sport or sport+ button it's a monster... really takes ya by surprise the first time ya put your foot to the floor hehehe.
You can't help saying wowwwww... never happened in the maserati.
Only true wow is the exhaust note, but what a WOWWWW that is!

I think one phrase sums it up... Porsche, there is no substitute!!

Hope this was helpful to you guys.
Cheers!
