No 997's allowed?

 

I won't say no to any Porsche lover. But the point was for a number of us who suffered through the wait, and the lower level of undertanding about the 991 (as it was so new), to put faces to the Avatars.

 

This born in Brooklyn, raised in CT guy will be with you guys in spirit! I really yearn for those upper NY / CT back roads.

Are we still on for Sunday?

 

YES! we are still on. I made a reservation for 10 (I think we are 7, but that way there is room if a few other 991 guys (or others show)) under my name - Michael Teschner. The Hostess on duty will be Claudia and I explained that while we all know each other, we have never met - so don't be shocked if we are a little confused looking. If you have something Porsche to wear - tee shirt etc, that will help us spot each other.

Try to be there a few moments early so we can meet in the parking lot (and park away from everyone else) - I do not know what you all look like, but I know most of your cars by heart! So that will make it easier to meet.

And boy does this weather make me regret not getting a Cab! Oh well - next time.

There is outside seating, but it is on a first come basis so we will just play it by ear. I am really looking forward to placing faces with such great cars. See you Sunday -

Well "How did it go?" Was there a good turn out? The wife and I attempted to stop there on our return run from Ocean City, Md but after getting stuck in the northbound NJ TP getting shut completely down for over an hour, due to a serious accident, we fell short of getting to you on time. We bailed out at Woodbury Commons and headed home

Please post news about any future gatherings.... will try to attend

 

Just three of us for the initial meeting, Newman, Sapster and I. Had a great lunch, on a perfect day (I was definitely jealous of my two counterparts who both had beautiful Cabs - if there was ever a weekend for Cabs, this was it) and we will certainly do it again. I hope you enjoyed Ocean City - I have not been there since after Law School graduation - spent a week there with classmates and spouses - a good time was had by all. How was the car show? Sounded like a blast.

 

It was a very pleasant day out and was great to put faces with the names.

The area has some fantastic roads and the drive home proved to be the best work out my car has seen yet (though I forgot my sunscreen and now look like a lobster).

we do a few treks each year that you may also enjoy.
There is a day trip coming up next month to Millbrook Winery. Great roads, great food & great people.

 

I've been a member of the NNJ region for 10 years, but haven't been active for a while.

 

That's good. I've been with Metro NY since 2001,,,, the treks are fun.

 

I did a DE with Metro last month. Great collection of cars and drivers. Very well run region.
