Teaser: Tubi Style 991 Exhaust!
Teaser: Tubi Style 991 Exhaust!
**Update: Video Added**
OK, so it's not really a teaser, it's pictures of our first production piece from Tubi. Over the past couple of months, we've been prototyping, testing, and re-testing this system to get it just right, and I think we did! So it was off to our pals at Tubi in Italy for the final production.
This is our first piece, so I'm expecting to have full inventory within the next 2-3 weeks. Final pricing hasn't been set yet either, so I'll keep you posted with that as well.
But for now I just wanted to share some pictures, impressions, and a video (edit: coming most likely tomorrow, thank our Apple iMacs for the delay
). One thing I can say is that it's a MUCH improved exhaust note over stock PSE and non-PSE. It's also a totally different tone then the outgoing 997.2 system...a little deeper, throaty, and more "exotic", for lack of a better word.
I'll update more as soon as possible...but for now, enjoy some pics.
(note: all the mufflers and piping are fully polished, I'm not sure why they look sort of dull in a few of the pictures, but they're polished, and will be on the final pieces, just like always.
)

It comes off really quickly actually. Not too differently then the older cars, a few fenderliner bolts, tail lights out, some torx up top....so maybe 20-25 minutes at the MOST, being extra careful.

We're going to do a before and after dyno within the next couple days. We'll be installing it on a 7 speed C2S, then we'll get some numbers.
awesome! cant wait to see what type of numbers you guys put down!
Thanks David...me too! Right now it's on our PDK car, but as soon as we're done shooting the video (once the rain stops), we're going to switch it over to our 7 speed car, so we can dyno it on our DynoJet. We wanted to test the sound and driving characteristics on both transmissions, but it's easier to dyno the 7 speed.
