Paint to Sample rejection??

Ok, after agonizing on a color and finally deciding I was going to do. PTS option on a new Boxster S, I go down to the dealer to spec my car and my dealer shows me an email he just got from Porsche. Another customer who ordered a PTS 911 had his order rejected with the explanation being "due to production concerns PTS will be unavailable for the remainder of 2012", meaning for sure no 911 PTS and implying possibly no Boxster PTS either.

My dealer is a great guy and trying to find out if they will resume in 2013, as I would wait for my car and get the PTS color I want, but was curious if anyone out there buying a New Boxster or a new 991 911 had encountered this yet?

i thought PTS was usually deadlined around the end of Frb or March in the past so i suppose this is no different.

do custom leather instead?

For most of the past years they've offered it, PTS stopped with March production. I'd expect it to return in the fall/winter production period.

Thanks appreciate the feedback, so I should just hold on if I really want the PTS.

Pts is paint to sample. Choosing your own custom color for your new porsche.

Of course thats making the final sticker go over $80K for a BOx S, and am wondering if I should just go white with black wheels and save the cash for a flash and exhaust.

Yeah I have loved that color for years and finally decided to order one. Would look best on an RS, but think it will look good on a new Boxster S. Thoughts anyone?
