Which wheels look best on platinum silver?
Hi All,
Thank you guys for such an informative forum. It is such a joy reading your comments and insights on the car while building my 991. Now it all comes to the wheels and I am torn between the carrera classics and the sport design wheels. So what do you guys think?

Jake:
I like the Carrera S wheels which is what I have on my Silver car. The curves complement the car's curves. I like the standard finish rather than the Platinum and I like the color crests which you can't get with the platinum finish.
Though I like the classic wheels, the edges are too sharp for me for this car. They don't compliment the car they compete.

I see ChuckJ's point, but guess it's a matter of taste. I had the Carrera S wheels configured initially, but then decided on the classics. See this thread for pictures.
Carrera S wheels would have my preference. I had Classic on my white car when I bought it and replaced them by black wheels. I would not have done so if I had bought the car with -black- Carrera S (I still have the Classic and may use them again in the future though).

I like the sport design wheel.
You don't see them on as many vehicles but look pretty agressive and traditional in Porsche design

I agree with you guys about it being a matter of taste. I visited Tysons Corner porsche and they had the sport design wheels on an agate gray and the carrera classics on a black 911 but still couldn't decide. The classics in my opinion are too bold and flashy whereas the sport design are more sporty and looks more suitable for the car.
Below is a GT silver with sport design and they look beautiful.

Why don't go with something aftermarket? If you need ideas, drop me a PM! We just did a full info specs sheet regarding sizes and weight of our three piece and monoblock wheels with litepack technology, forged profiles and all that a 991 owner might need!
So I let the wife choose and she prefers the sportdesign wheels.
