fuel leak or broken gauge?

I filled up my tank the other day and have driven 15 miles since then and am down to 3/4 of a tank. Clearly something is wrong. I don't see puddles of leaking fuel nor do I smell any. Maybe the gauge is broken? Has anyone else experienced this?

In San Francisco, I could see mine being down a quarter tank in 15 miles (hills, tons of stops, and always in sport).

What kind of driving?

I'm in Florida so there are no hills. I do drive in sport but the point is this is my third tank and I have always gotten about 230 miles out of a tank the first two times. I can't imagine getting 60 this time for the same type of driving. That is like 4mpg

911 easily triggers the auto shut-off feature on the pump.

thus when u think ur tank is full, it really is filled only to 3/4 tank.

u can turn the handle of the pump to 9 o'clock position (instead of the usual 6 o'clock) to fill it up completely.

My 997 cuts off early sometimes if the filler is in wrong. Are you sure it got filled to the top?

230 miles to a tanks, you must spend most of the time above 6000 RPM. I routinely get 350 - 375 and I would call my driving style "spirited"!

350-375 miles ? Up to 600 Km on a tank ? Is this with the base or the "S" ?
That is much better than I was hoping for...

Thanks, OK, my S is going to be a tad heavier, nevertheless, that is not much more than what my other cars burn. So you're effectively saying that Porsche's figures are not far from the truth. Nice. Almost incredible for such a powerful car.

I would just keep an eye on it. The post above is a likely contributor. See how the rest of the tank treats you, and the next time you fill up make sure you get the expected number of Gallons, and that the guage reads full. Is it possible that you weren't quite full the last time you filled up and just didn't recognize it until a few miles later?
