question re blk w/satin platinum

My dealer is making me a good offer on the car below. As you can see from my avatar pic I have a 997.2 silver /blk base carrera w/19s. Its the classic colors. Everyone from kids to grandmas love the look of the car. Its the prototypical porsche. And its my DD. So heres my question. In the eyes of my distinguished fellow board members, does the car below raise any eyebrows as a lawyer's daily driver? Is it too "darth vader"? I just love the wheels...

Don't they say that all Lawyers have a dark soul?

Just kidding...could not resist. It's fine, pull the trigger. Consider this though... black cars are very hard to keep clean. You can go weeks without washing a silver car and it will still look clean. After you detail a black car, a two minute drive up the street will result in visible blemishes.

I owned a black car once...it was my first black car....and my last one.

Well since your asking for opinions....I think the wheels on the black car look horrible....your silver car looks much better.

I have a silver 997.2 in the garage and a white 991 cab on order. I wouldn't do it because (with all due respect to those that have black cars with black wheels) I don't like the black on black look. Your "too darth vader" comment says it all.

With an investment of this magnitude, I'd get what I wanted rather than compromise- and make them give you a good deal on the one you want. Besides you should feel the pain (and the ecstasy) that the rest of have!

Agree with the comments on black cars. My first was my last, but I'm a bit **** and washed mine 3 times this week!

When it's the right car, you won't care what we think. You'll just buy it and tell us later!

The 991 is a great car though, so good luck hunting!

Hard to go wrong with that combo. I did the platinum silver with platinum wheels. I am still on a honeymoon with mine. But it very hard to dislike that black beauty. I am a lawyer and my 997.2 was silver with black and I don't think either makes a bit of difference to you next choice. The comments about keeping it clean is very valid. But when clean, the black is stunning. My advice...use the force!

I've had both black and silver Porsches. I really love black but as mentioned, it gets so dirty so fast and then I would just obsess over it. I ultimately switched over to a middle ground - Grey. I feel like it has some of the the awesomeness of black with some of the benefits of silver - esp when it comes to not looking dirty all the time. Just my 2 cents. Regardless, the black one you posted does look super bad ***. Would you happen to be a prosecutor?

It does not matter. Just as long as he is not in contempt of congress!
