My Order: 2013 Cabriolet in Basalt Black
My Order: 2013 Cabriolet in Basalt Black
Thanks for the feedback in the other thread about seats!
I ordered a 2013 Cabriolet instead of the stock 2012 Cabriolet primarily due to the seats. However, I ended up ordering a lot more options than I would've settled for in a stock car!
I've always wanted the red top so this was a must have. I think the 18-way seats and seat ventilation coupled with power steering plus will allow it to be a comfortable DD and perhaps a good replacement of my California which I don't use much. With comfort in mind and a priority, I skipped the PASM which would make the ride lower and firmer.
This is my order:
911 Carrera Cabriolet
Convertible Top Red
Basalt Black Metallic
Leather interior in natural leather Carrera Red
Exterior:
ParkAssist (front and rear)
Model designition "911"
Transmission / Chassis:
Sports exhaust system
Sport Chrono Package
Power steering Plus
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Wheels:
20-inch Carrera Classic wheel
Wheel Accessoires:
Tire Pressure monitoring system (TPM)
Wheel Caps
Interior:
Instrument dial Sport Chrono stop clock in White
Automatically dimming inside mirror
Floor mats
Smoking package
Seat ventilation
Seat heating
Light design package
HomeLink® (programmable garage door opener)
Adaptive Sports seats Plus (18-way, electric) with memory package
SportDesign steering wheel
Leather interior package in natural leather
Interior Carbon:
Carbon interior package (with leather interior/with PDK)
Centre console trim Carbon
Now the wait begins!

You've been misinformed. PASM will make the ride MORE comfortable (in normal setting) and also less so in sport setting. You always have a choice. And with 20" wheels is probably something of a necessity IMO. If it's not too late I'd look at adding it to your order.
Chuck
20" wheels will make the ride worse...
Thanks for valuable input.
I specifically chose to the order the base and not S to avoid the PASM (which is standard on the S)
I owned a few P cars over the years and always found the sports cars without PASM more comfortable (Cayman, Boxster, 911). Cayennes and Panameras are a different story and I cant imagine either one without PASM.
I'm not an expert so I can't come up with a scientific explanation. However, the sports cars with PASM tend to be lower? which means less suspension travel? which could make the ride less comfortable than a car without PASM?
Not sure about the reasons but I know I feel at home without the PASM in the sports cars

I think the 19"s have Goodyear Tires which probably would feel different. That would be one reason I wouldn't get the 19" wheels.
